    john deere 50

    Try replacing the coil. When they get hot, it will cut out the spark. They will run when cold , but cut out hot. Let it cool and it will run again. Try working it and see if it happens again.

    MT W/ M-20 mower

    A friend just bought a MT with an M-20 mower. Does anyone have any pictures to show how this was mounted? Mid/ rear mount? I only grew up with the Waterloo Tractors and #5 mowers. This is a different beast. Any photos or parts pictures would help. Thanks---

    The 520 I was refering to was right under the ERTL name. It does not resemble a real Model 520 tractor. Is there any listing for value? Thanks

    Can anyone tell me the going price for a John Deere model 520 Ertl Pedal tractor? My Grandson is now 17 and drives the big ones. It is in good shape, all there nothing broken, good paint, tires good but worn. Thanks for any help--

    Its a long hood model. Is 70 psi acceptable compression?

    I looked at a 46 "A" with average paint, new 12.4x38 Titans, rebuilt mag, gears seem o.k. clutch also. Compression 70 psi both cylinders. Is this low? I thought it should be closer to 100. Any one have an answer, I would appreciate it. Guy is asking $2600, good or bad? Thanks

    Would cranking the engine with a 12 volt battery cause the compression test to read higher than with a 6 volt ? Owner claims 110 & 120 compression, but used the 12 volt. If so, any ideas how far off this would make it read? Thanks----

    Tires Rims

    I was looking at a J.D. 51 "A" that has a set of 15 in. Firestones F&Rs on widened rims. Tires are like new, and the rims are also. Can anyone give me a "ballpark" price of what they are worth? The Tractor also looks and runs good. Thanks for any info---Joe

    1955 40U Shop manual

    Does anyone have a shop manual for a 1955 40U? It does not have to be new/unused ect. Just something I can read and use. A little grease don't hurt. I have the Operators and parts books, but need some additional info. Please advise what you have and cost. Thanks Joe

    Correct Paint for 48 JD B

    Semi-gloss is what all the restoration books and Green Magazine says. Flat on the axle shafts. Or, clean and sand, then a clear coating. As the above note says, do what you like.

    John Deere A not moving

    Check you transmission first, if your sure its not frozen as some suggest. The older hi-lo shifters would lock up between gears if the sliding gears are worn. My 45 "B" did this until I replaced the sliding shaft and gears, just caused by years of wear. Only my opinion. Sometimes with a lot...
