    JD160 engine surging

    Never occured to me that it was too much air. I drilled two 3/8 inch holes in bottom of plastic filter housing. Now runs with no surging. I can plug holes with my fingers while motor is running and surging returns. Thanks for info. Greatly appreciated.

    My 160 with kawasaki FB460 motor wants to surge when running at high rpm. I removed air filter and ran it....smooth, no surging. So, I got new filter and installed...now the rpm is surging again. If I loosen lid on air filter, rpm smooths out. Any ideas greatly appreciated.

    Transaxle problem in my jd160 with 5-speed Peerless model 840A . transaxle seems to jerk or jump when pulling a slight load. It feels like it is jumping gears. Seems to do it more in 1-2-3 gears more than 4-5 gears. I pulled the transaxle and opened up, but can find nothing that would cause...

    My friend's 4020 PS sometimes has a shifter problem when changing gears. Shifter "locks" in one gear and cannot move shifter. Usually have to go thru a series of jerking, pulling and shoving on shifter to get it to free up. He's afraid of breaking shifter. Also sometimes will not move when...

    42 in. cub cadet deck value?

    Recently acquired a mowing deck, with carriage framework and mule pulleys, that was on a 108 cub cadet. It is in really nice original condition, always shedded. I have no use for it and would like to sell, but have no idea what it is worth. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Hey guys, need to pick your brains. I have a 3414 tractor/loader with BC144 gas engine. Problem is dist. is shot. Are there any USA IH models that have distributor to fit this thing? I believe it is a Delco.
