    Shifting problem

Yes I think this may be the solution given the history of performance. But it won't come out of gear when I've completely stopped the tractor, the clutch is all the way in and the pto shaft isn't turning. I still have to reach down and take the pto out of gear to be able to shift the...

    Shifting problem

Thank you for that JD. I replaced the clutch about 20 years ago and confess that I've not adjusted it since, although it feels like it has the right amount of freeplay. I'll take a closer look at it today.

    Shifting problem

No I do not. I went from a 60" to a 72" and removed the ORC so the PTO shaft would fit without cutting it.

    Shifting problem

While I can appreciate your concern of my physical prowess, I've had this tractor for the last 22 years and I'm pretty familiar with it's normal performance. I really doubt that I've lost that much masculinity since last fall. :)

    Shifting problem

No, I have difficulty getting the transmission out of gear unless I take the the PTO out. Once I take the PTO out of engagement the transmission shifts just fine.

    Shifting problem

That's the problem, I can't get it out of gear and into neutral without pulling extremely hard on the shifter.

    Shifting problem

I think you're onto something here. In past years I used an ORC and the tractor always shifted just fine. This year I'm not using it and having problems shifting. I had forgotten that change. Please tell me what you're thinking and how it relates.

    Shifting problem

My TO20 is doing something different this year. I have a 3 point finish mower and I like to switch between 2nd and 3rd gear sometimes. But I can't seem to take it out of gear, especially 2nd. I try to relieve the gear bind by rolling it forward or back, or slip the clutch but that doesn't...

    pto replacement

I need to replace the shaft for a 5 foot tiller and I have 37hp PTO. Been shopping around and I see prices all over the place. How do I know if the shaft is heavy enough. Is there a number or code or series to look for?

    Tiller not penetrating the ground

Thanks everyone for the information. Pretty much what I expected to hear. The tractor does have a high/low gear range but even in low 1st it seems to be a bit too fast. The 2 stage clutch might help but I'm afraid of damaging it. Looks like I need to get some sort of pulverizer or ripper or...

    Tiller not penetrating the ground

Novice user here. I've been mowing with an old Ferguson for several years but decided to try some tilling. So I picked up a used 5 foot roto tiller and didn't have any luck with it. It just would't penetrate the dry ground (central Illinois good soil). This is on previous undisturbed soil that...

    3 point anatomy

I've been wondering about this same issue recently. I have the flat stabilizer on the right side but there is no axle bracket on the left side to attach a second one. I've not been able to locate one of these brackets. Any help out there?
