    COIL

Thanks for the replies, but I am one of those guys that probably needs to read the book "electricity for dummies". I do understand how to read ohms with my digital meter and I gather from the replies that the 6v coil should read 0.5 ohms resistance and the 12v coil should read 1.5 ohms, is that...

    COIL

I have a 1946 2N, front mount distributor with 12 volt conversion. I need to replace the coil and my local tractor supply has 2 different coils, both boxes read that they fit 1939-1950 9n-2n-8n tractors with frnt mnt distr to s/n 263843 one has p/n on package 0238001 and the other 0236588. spark plugs

The oil in radiator is a solid film on top of coolant. The coolant and plugs were changed about 100 hrs ago and the plugs are completely covered in oil and carbon, went to 4 parts stores today for new plugs and everybody was out of them (lots of old ford tractors in this area). The head removal...

    spark plugs

I have a 46 2N, frnt mount distr. 12V conversion. Thinking about changing head gasket, oil in radiator coolant but no coolant in the oil. I am guessing the head gasket is the problem. Which gasket would someone recommend the all metal gasket pn#8N6051B or the softie pn#8N6051A.

    2n SPARK PLUGS

Thanks for the replies. Changed out the plugs to 437's, I did look down the plug holes with flashlight and there was a lot of carbon on top of pistons. But the 437's made it run better than it has since I have had it.

    2n SPARK PLUGS

I have a 46 2n front mount distributor 12v conversion. Ran it pretty hard yesterday bushhoggin after about 2 hours started missing and loss of power. Removed plugs and discovered it had autolite 216"s in it and they were pretty fouled up. I bought autolite 437"s to put back in it as per previous...

    pump control valve

Yeah, that helps a lot with which way the valve goes into the bushing on pump. Do you happen to know if the little rod inside valve is supposed to have a slight bend in it and if that rod slides into valve from non-tapered end toward tapered end?

    pump control valve

I have a 1946 ford 2n that the lift went all the way up while bush hoggin and would not go back down. Took left side insp cover off and discovered control valve cotter pin had come out of lever assy connector rod which resulted in control valve and spring lying in bottom of sump. I have removed...
