    Engine-Trans Bolts

Thanks, as you know a lot of them thread into the engine, so I didn't know if those with exposed threads did the same. Would you know if the bolts and/or nuts are the same for the Trans to Diff? They appear to be. Thanks!

    Engine-Trans Bolts

Hello! I recently took a sickle bar handle/bracket off the right side of my '47 2N. It was attached by three bolts between the Engine/Trans and two between the Trans/Diff. There is a bolt on the right side of the Engine/Trans that has exposed threads. Should this have a nut on it, or is the...

    1947 2N aux trans shifter

Thanks, I knew that it could be the case, just wanted to see if anyone had seen this handle.

    1947 2N aux trans shifter

Is there any reason that the shifter looks nothing like most Sherman Combo shifters I've seen?

    1947 2N aux trans shifter

I took a picture of the aux trans shifter on my (not currently running) 2N for some ID help. The closest I can find is the Sherman combo, but not quite. The bottom edge is flat on mine (slightly curved on others I've seen) and mine appears to be made out of flat stock (not round). The shifter...

    1947 2N project and question

Taking it apart isn't about the clutch or hard spot, but about a knock that I wasn't concerned about before. The hard spot only happens when in gear; when I hit the hard spot in gear and try to shift, I can't shift into neutral until I turn it back the other way or press the clutch. If it's in...

    '47 2N Oil Pan Removal

Hey guys! my clutch is working fine now, and I have another question. Do I have to split the tractor to take the oil pan off? If i can then I would like to check out the knock before I try to fire it up (I do like my block with no rod holes!). If you guys would be so inclined to give me the run...

    1947 2N project and question

Well now that the clutch is in order I'm concerned about the knock. If I can remove the oil pan without splitting the tractor, I'll probably check out the knock before starting it. So that said, what does dropping the oil pan entail?

    1947 2N project and question

I'm using the fan to spin, but the hard spot is only if I turn it clockwise. If I turn it the other way I can spin the fan many times around, so I don't think It's compression.

    1947 2N project and question

Well, I made it to the tractor a day early, and here's the results: I marked the PTO and began to turn the engine (backwards, because forwards I hit a hard spot)and the PTO turned with the engine. I tested it again in gear and i noticed I could seemingly "wind it up," meaning as i turned the...

    1947 2N project and question

Just curious, what will the results indicate? If the PTO does spin, then that would rule out the clutch as the culprit, right? And if it doesn't spin, then it could be the clutch. Am I right in all this?

I plan on going back to the tractor Saturday, I'll check it out.

    1947 2N project and question

well, I'm fixing the carb and starter because it couldn't run, knock or not, without them. I plan on getting these put on and maybe a test fire before I tear into it.

    1947 2N project and question

    1947 2N project and question

I am now the proud owner of a 1947 2N. It belonged to my great-grandpa, and my grandma checked with one of her brothers and give it to me. I'd really like to get it running, and then make it look good, so nay advice/help would be helpful. Here's the down lo. - Found it with carb (TSX241B) and...
