    1965 Ford 4000 PTO will not shut off.

    Hey guys, I'm working on a 65 4000. It has an independent PTO, I think, and it starts up as soon as the tractor is started. Working the lever back and forth does nothing to stop the PTO. Any ideas on what would cause this?

    640 Rear Lift - Just can't figure it out.

    Thanks JMOR, that was indeed the problem. Was stuck, and all we did was pull it out and put it back in, works like a charm now. Looks like I'll be plowing today. :)

    That might be the only thing we didn't pull. Is this behind the two plates that keep the control valve in the cylinder itself?

    We took the lift cover off today and replaced all the o-rings and gasket, but still couldn't get it to lift. We bled the pump and also ran the tractor with the lift plate off to see if fluid was pumping out where the tube meets the lift cover and it was. We used an air compressor to test the...

    Ford 4000 - Unknown chassis type.

    After some scrubbing, I finally found the ID numbers on my tractor. I used this site (http://www.springfieldbiz.com/oaktree/rhcodes_serial.html) to ID the tractor, but hit a wall with the code for the chassis type. My model number is D4114C. Can anyone tell me what the "41" chassis is?

    Jubilee 3 point problem, Help!

    On the pump there are the two plugs you referred to. The one closest to the front of the tractor is used for purging to get air out of the hyd. system.

    Not sure if this helps. This is off of my 1965 4000 with the 3 cyl. diesel. If it"s what your looking for, I can get a better picture and take some measurements for you.

    Picks of the 4000 in need of some TLC.

    Just south of Atlanta, and we do get somewhat cold around here about every two years. Lowest is usually around 20 F. As Fordfarmer posted, this has been converted to horizontal exhaust.
