    i uncloged my shutoff valve with a stiff wire - open valve- push wire up into the hole till gas runs out...the using air pressure idea sounds better - but if your out in the field have your wire handy

    oh - i see - looks like the nut and threads are on the inside...will have to pull left trumpet and do both-will replace both of them just to make sure its done right...thanks for the help

    1949 8n the lower link shaft fig. fo111 #3 is lose and leaking oil...i tried to tighten it but the threads are striped...tried to take it out-it will not turn out...i put a wedge between it and the housing and put pressure on it with the link arm - still no luck...how do i get it out? and...

    8n oil change

    i just overhauled my 8n...when i cleaned the canister that holds the oil filter element it had about 1 inch of gunky crud in the bottom of it...every time i change oil i am going to take the canister off of the tractor and wash it out..

    i just tried my second thermostat neither one of them will fit inside the hose...anyone got a part # for the correct thermostat...it is a 1949 8n

    my gas tank has a very small hole in it at the top center where the dome is- is this a vent hole or do i need to repair it

    1949 8n we just overhauled the engine...when i put the starter on before we bolted engine to bell housing i noticed the starter bendix teeth were engaged to the ring gear...when we started the engine i heard a clicking sound-it sounded to me like the ratcheting thing on the bendix...

    how can i tell the diference of bcackfire or afterfire...it dont have any problems until it been worked hard for 2 or 3 hours...thank yall for your help...it is realy appreciated...

    its an 8n- 12 volt alternater with resister to cut volts to 6volt for the front mount distributor
