    Identifying by casting numbers

Thanks Tony Can you give me a little more info please. I knew the gas was suppose to be a 158. But has some odd features for a '68. The diesel was suppose to be a 175 and may be a 64 or 74. A '65 tractor. With features from a even later model. 192 would make it 80's-90's and like...

Bend over for your local NH dealer!!

3000 OH said it well, Sometimes you pay the higher prices to support the local dealer. Unfortunately us little guys cant afford do that. We do it when we are forced to. I like to support the local people and do it when i can. But i cant ignore 30-40-50-60% difference in prices either...

Bend over for your local NH dealer!!

Dealers, Not just NH, Dealers have never been known to have the best prices. More often they are know for being the Only place to get certain parts. Back in the early 70's the TODAY program did a special, a 2800.00 Impala bought from the GM parts counter cost 100,000.00 and you put it...

    Spin on vs Cartridge filter

Thanks The regulator is not a problem, I have done too many to count. I have 2 3000's A '68 gas i am working on and a '65 diesel that's locked up. Both have the hex plug. The diesel has a spin on and No adapter. I haven't delved into casting numbers, But i get the feeling that i should.

    Spin on vs Cartridge filter

Yes the Spin on is more susceptible to damage. But my Father got a great deal on a '50 Cadillac in '54 when a rock removed part of it's oil pan. I ordered from craftonequipment yesterday, takes a basic ford filter 3/4x16 very common. I learn a bunch doing this research. Didn't find the...

    Tractor maintenance day

Match the numbers. Most is the same thing others are selling. Some genuine Bosch and Lucas, Most are later date listings. And they have some parts. My 3000 diesel has a 4 1/2 Lucas but its a '65, But the 5" was on many models for many years in the 70's and up. I haven't used them, i...
