Electronic Ignition installation Problem late model '51 8N

Just bought the Pertronix Ignitor for side mount, 4 cyl, 6 volt, positive ground. I've been pulling my hair out because I can't get fire to the plugs, even with new wires, cap & rotor. Do not have wire plug wires. These little tractors are simple, yet so hard. Has anyone else ever...

    '51 Trailer Queen

Just wanted to thank y'all for your help along the way, and to post a few pics of my Trailer Queen. She's 99% done. PS to Tim The Plow Man - Thanks for the tip on the fuel line. It worked! Mike in Texas

    Tight motor 518n

Ref 8n.I think I may have left the rope oil seals a bit to long. When the new motor was in the shop I could turn it by hand but it was very tight. Now that it?s in the tractor with the belt on I can no longer turn it. Is it possible that the rope seals could be jamming things up. Note...

    Fenders

Speaking of fenders, I have acquired about 6 sets in my search for restorable N parts. One of the sets has round mounting holes instead of square and a bit more curve than the rest. Just wondering what tractor they came off of (they are not script). Thanks again.

    front wheel / tire problems

You might think about having the front tires filled solid then you won't have to worry about air again. Just a thought, what I did. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

    Radiator

Thanks for the tips. I have looked for a radiator for two years and since it's in unbelievably mint condition, the last thing I want to hear from a radiator shop is "oops". So, as you suggest, I'll use vinegar and if anything happens to it, there's no one to blame but me. Appreciate your...

    Radiator

I picked up an excellent radiator off a 9n. The outside is in mint condition but I don"t know about the inside. So, what chemical should I use to clean the inside? I was thinking about using CLR, but want to know what y"all suggest.

    Stabelizing brackets

I picked up a set of OEM brackets today then noticed that one of them has a ball socket on it. What is its purpose, and does it matter which side of the tractor its mounted on? Thanks

    Royse, WW2N Dollar bill

First, thanks to everyone for the input! I believe that I"ll be using 5/16 carriage bolts. All the other ways are either unavailable to me, or more trouble than they would be worth. Thanks, Royse, for bringing up the primer paint and humidity issue. I"ll be disassembling and painting...

    Fender Rivets

Have cleaned and primed fenders and brackets, and the new rivets are ready to install. Since I"ve never done this before, is there a special tool for installing these rivets, (other than a Big A** hammer), and should I apply heat to install them? When I took things apart, I noticed that the...

3 Fergusons for Parts - South TX

I just happened to run across 2 Fergs south of San Antonio while looking for 8n parts. The guy selling them is asking $600 each, and if someone buys both, he will "throw in" the 3rd one. One of them has an aluminum transmission housing. I can"t use them, but will give the owner"s info to...
