    Farmall H 1949

This question is about Engine Oil. I replaced my Engine Oil 2 years ago with SAE 30. I am guessing I have about 30-40 hours on the Farmall, since then. I am mostly familiar with cars and typically you should use a "thicker" Oil in older car engines. I am planning on replacing the Oil and wonder...

    Leaky Gas Cap Farmall H

The gas cap arrived, yesterday 12-Aug. It took awhile, actually I forgot about it and didn't know what was in the package until I opened it up.

    Leaky Gas Cap Farmall H

Drove my Farmall H yesterday. Runs great but why does gas splash out of my gas tank cap? Should there be a gasket or is there an improved cap design that does not leak when the gas splashes around? Thanks, Kevin

    Oil Filter Adapter Suggestions

I am thinking of replacing my Canister Style Oil Filter on my Farmall H 1949. I've read about screw on oil filter adapter kits. Has anyone tried one and could possibly recommend one for me? Something I might do while staying home due to corona virus. Thanks, Kevin

    Farmall H Oil Filter

I should have been more clear. The picture was before I rode for 15 minutes. I should have taken it after I rode. It leaks from the Top, not the bottom. I think the copper wash it missing. I will order one and hope that stop the leak. Thanks for all the replies. Kevin

    Farmall H Oil Filter

My Oil Filter leaks oil. I tighten the top bolt and after riding for about 15 minuets, the bolt gets loose and oil leaks out the top and bottom. I checked to make sure there is only one gasket and there is just one. Should I just tighten it more? I would hate to strip it. I am wondering if...

    Oil Filter Gasket Question

I put the oil filter assembly back on with 1 gasket, I had to add 4 quarts of Oil so it was low. I started the engine up and Oil pressure return to its normal 60 psi at idle and full throttle. I watched for a oil leak but did not see any. I rode it in 4th gear for about 15 minutes, oil...

    Oil Filter Gasket Question

There is a significant amount of oil on the outside of the engine. The oil pressure was normally 60 psi from idle to full throttle. I did not check the oil level, yet. I removed the oil filter and it is a CASE Filter Element 376374R91. I will add oil after installing the filter with one...

    Oil Filter Gasket Question

I didn't notice a copper ring on the bolt? I think a lot of oil came out of the engine and I hope that's why the pressure is so low. I plan on putting the Oil Filter Assembly back together and adding oil and hope the pressure returns. As a side note, the Ignition Coil had drips of oil on the...

    Oil Filter Gasket Question

I finally had my 1949 Farmall H running. We rode it on 3 different days for about 30 minutes each ride. The last ride, my wife noticed oil on the right side of the engine. The pressure was normally at 60 psi, but when I checked it, it was only 10 psi. I think and hope it is the Oil Filter...

    Hydraulic hose question?

I put my new NAPA hydraulic hose on over the weekend. I did not use any Teflon Tape and it did NOT leak. My hyd pressure went from 20 psi with the leaky hose, to 40 psi with new hose (no leak). My Farmall H is ready to use again, thanks for all the help on these forums, over the past 2...

    Hydraulic hose question?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I removed the old hose, took it to NAPA after work and they made me a new hose. NAPA said it is okay to use Teflon tape on the fittings. Any comments about Teflon tape on hydraulic fittings? I hope to put it on this coming weekend. I will let you know if its...
