4 Row Corn Head for an F2 Gleaner

This message is a reply to an archived post by JMS.MN on May 18, 2009 at 08:42:52. The original subject was "Re: 4 Row Corn Head for an F2 Gleaner". JMS, I am not picky on the row width. Beggers can't be choosers here. I would like a 4 row if possible, but would settle for a 2 row for the...

    F@ Gleaner Soybean Special

I have no idea what the speed changer is on this thing. I have the manual but the pics are B & W and almost unviewable. I am starting to hate this thing.

I cannot get the lever in the cab to slow down or speed up the cylinder speed. Anything common I need to check first before enlisting a mechanic?

JD 494A for sale 4 row in Middle Tennessee

I have a good planter for sale. It is a 4 row and I planted with her this year. I went through and replaced several worn out parts (hoses, springs, bolts, misc stuff). I would like to get about $950 for her. I can hook her up and you can test drive her today.

I am glad you got them. They should do very well for you up there. I am planting mine this weekend. I got the sunflower plates and planted about 10 acres with them. I put in a few RR kern rows to boot for late season doves. Save me about 4 more plates and backer rings for backup. I think I...

FINALLY! It has a chunk missing from inside the valve where the plastic piece sits. New one in route. $88

    F2 Head drops while running.

If i am reading it right then the closest vavle body that the rod runs from the bottom of the cab into the vavlve is the one. The back has a funny looking nut on it that is kind of coned? You take the coned part off anf the plastic should be inside?

    F2 Head drops while running.

My F2 head is dropping fairly quickly. I can stop it with the hydraulic cutoff next to the cab. I am trying to diagnose the problem and cannot seem to figure it out. Should I have the hydraulic valve system rebuilt?
