8N will not start up
Firing order off because distributor is out of time. Find TDC on #1 and see where your rotor is pointing. Make sure you're on compression stroke and not exhaust. If not at #1 on the distributor that your issue.- relsem

governor help
I had a similar problem with my TO30. I went through the linkage set up procedure multiple times with the same results (engine over reved no governor action). I believe that after a carb rebuild the arm from the carb to the governor arm was now WAY too short. I believe the carb linkage...- relsem

TO30 governor problem
OK spent some time trying to diagnose the problem. Went through the governor adjustment process according to the manual and other posts I read on this site several times. No change. TO30 governor problem
Working on the wife's 52 TO30. The tractor revs through the roof with the slightest pull (just a few degrees). Pulled the carb. Cleaned throughly in an ultra sonic cleaner. Blew out all passages, verified float height was correct. Put it back on tractor and adjusted the throttle and governor...- relsem

62 4000 hydraulic issue
Did as you suggested...Cam is fine..looks like it's the pump shaft/drive gear or both..pump gear just wobbles and rattles around in the housing...thanks for the info... -

Was working with a heavy tractor rake on my gravel driveway today when suddenly no hydraulics on my 62 4000 (4cyl gas).Also noticed that the proof meter that runs off the pump is also not working..I pulled the allen plug on the pump and there is fluid in the pump but -0- pressure. Plug was out...
