    Splitting a vac

Most of the vac's I have seen have a support for splitting cast into the top of the torque tube right under the gas tank with a 5/8 to 3/4 inch hole on each end. I have seen a stand made to attach to it.

    La Case

50 years ago when I was in auto mechanics school we had a machine that rearced the shoes on drum brakes to get better contact to the drums after they were turned. If you can find a brake shop with one in might make the job easier.

    Variations of 830

Post pictures if you can. You can sometimes see if it's gas or diesel and recognize a case-o-matic from a dry clutch by the oil lines and clutch control.

    VAC clutch

n the older vac's with the hyd pump on the belt pulley you could disengage the hyd by turning in a large set screw. On my vac 14 the belt pulley can be disengaged by loosening a set screw and pulling out on the pulley.

    VAC clutch

The only reason other than the clutch sticking, and I have one that has done that more than once two others have never done it, would be for belt work that's the only way to disengage the belt pulley on the older vac's. D or S you could pull the hand clutch.

    case dc intake manifold

If you are concerned that its sucking air around the intake manifold you can try letting it run at an idle and spray A LITTLE starting fluid or carb cleaner around the intake. If leaking it will pickup speed.

hanks that was my concern. I've jumped an sc with 12 volts and thought it was turning to fast for the impulse. Does anyone know what kind of primary voltage those mags generate.
