Ford 850 3 hydraulic point and lift issue?

Great. Thanks. I will check the lift cylinder and install new rings and make sure that everything is smooth and clean. That should resolve the leak down issue I believe. The unit has a remote on the top plate for a front mounted snow plow that has since been removed and sold. I will check...

Ford 850 3 hydraulic point and lift issue?

Hi, I have a 1957 Ford 850. In the winter the 3 point system takes several minutes after the tractor starts before I get any movement in the system. Once it starts and operates when the tractor is warm the system works fine, but it does hiccup a bit and will leak down relatively quickly. My...

    Ford 70 95

I believe Clive Cussler has one, he has just about every other unique motored vehicle! Dirk should know Clive very well! LOL

    Thoughts on a '59 671 SOS

A fellow has one for sale around me. No PS, very rusty, some bent up front metal, tires are old and at about 60% with chains, he says it runs fine and all gears work, 1800 hours (looks original, or at least very old), front mounted snow plow with down pressure, large cement rear ballast, 3pt...

Ford 850 distributor problem converted to electronic

I agree. I have been running my Jubilee and 850 using standard points for a decade or more without any adjustments or problems. I can't recall ever seeing a post praising electronic ignition as a significant improvement over standard points in these farm tractor applications.

    F.E.L. make?

The more that I look at your loader, it does not appear to have down pressure and the brackets are very different from a typical Schwartz unit. It may be a Schwartz loader, but if it is, it is a very early unit. Good luck.

    F.E.L. make?

This looks like, but not quite, a Schwartz 1200 loader. They made loaders for many manufacturers and the 1200 was akin to the Ford 770 loader. About the same size, but not quite, and the brackets would be different for each tractor. This is a 1200 on a Massey 135.

    Finished Project

Great job! What size front tires do you have on the tractor? I am looking for something other than ag tires for my 850. Thanks.

    MF 135 weights

Nicely done. How much weight is that?

    weight in back of tractor

Hi, you will need lots of weight added to the back on any 2 wheel drive tractor with a loader. I added windshield wiper fluid (-20 deg. below type) to both tires, about 250 pounds of wheel weights to each side, and then made up a counterweight of about 700 lbs. of concrete with old iron dumped...

    770B Loader

I have a 770B mounted on my MF135 diesel. My controls use two sticks, not a joystick. This is how it is mounted.

    Powermaster ?

Here are pics of the before and after on a very early 1957 850 Powermaster, with power steering. The tractor had a dump front end loader on it when purchased. I took that off and sold it and just cleaned it up a bit, replaced the seals in the power steering cylinders and painted it with new...

"New" 841 followed me home yesterday.

PS - once the bolt is adjusted and tightened down with the nut, it should not move and should be centered in the eye.
