Does anyone know how many ton the New Idea 628-B gear was rated for?

    1946 @2N Front mount Distributor

The rear tires use tubes. You would not want to put calcium chloride in your wheels without them. You do not want the calcium chloride touching (and eating) your rims! Roger in Michigan

    STARTER BUTTON

If you have a solenoid then it works by grounding the little terminal on it. Try jumping to ground the terminal that goes to the starter button. The power comes from the terminal on the solenoid that is connected to the battery hot post. Roger in Michigan

    Alternator not charging the battery

Did you test the ammeter by turning on the lights with the tractor NOT running. If the lights work and the ammeter does not move then the problem is with the ammeter -- either not wired properly or not reading the amps running through it. Roger in Michigan

    answer to riddle

Another trick is to use a BF Pipewrench. Use a floor jack and a board to hold the wrench against the plug. Maybe a BFH or cheater bar on the end of the wrench :-) Roger.

49 8N front mount dist tune up

Easy way is to remove the distributor and work on it on the bench. It"s a two bolt 5 minute job to remove it. Can"t get it back on wrong since it is driven by an offset tang. Just put it on with the bolts loose and rotate the rotor and let it drop into its slot then tighten down the bolts...

    Small lever

Yep. Draft control is nice when grading dirt with my 9N. If i get too big a pile of dirt built up in front of my rear blade the blade lifts and i keep going. Is nice. (of course i only have draft control but still is nice...)

    My 9N

Yep looks just like my 1940 9n. Even down to the smooth rear hubs and replaced front hubs and missing front grill. The alternator looks the same too. Roger

    Jumping my 6 volt...

"Starter button wont go down if it"s not." By jumping straight to the starter you are not and should not use the starter button. Actually polarity does not matter when jumping straight to the starter. One cable to the starter post the other to the foot rest. Be real sure that the tractor is...

    9N Spotting in current commercial.

Saw it again tonight. Yep, has a radiator cap showing. Did not get a good look at the hubs. Makes it an early 9n. Roger

    9N Spotting in current commercial.

Saw the T-Mobile ad. Looks like a Fergie. Horizontal fins on the radiator cover. Might be an early 9N. Roger

    Arps rear blade

Yep i've got one. Basic rear blade. Works well for leveling the driveway and plowing snow. Do not know the value. Came with the '40 9N. Paid $1500 for the pair. Roger
