    JD 60 power steering plug placement

    My dad and I have installed power steering on a JD 60 and would like to drill the hole in the front nose piece to access the fill resevoir ( if that is the right word). Can anyone give me some dimensions as to where the center of that hole should be? Like maybe from the seam between the hood...

    that is how I have I have it but it doesnt read anything...If a battery is fully charged will an ammeter not read anything? Just thinking.....

    I have a new ammeter hooked up in a one wire alt system. I have one wire from the alt going to one post of the ammeter and the other post on the ammeter going to the battery. With the motor reved up I show 14 volts ( or close to that) on each post of the alternator and also at the positive...

    got in a hurry...

    i did not describe it correctly ...in tapping the screwdriver with the hammer it got off course and damaged the outer most portion of the groove ( "widened ' it)..not full depth, just the outer portion... not sue how to do the picture thing... electronically challenged

    Like a duffis I got in a hurry trying to remove the stuck piston rings and I was doing ok until I got to the last piston. I got all the rings off but while trying to get the compression ( top) ring my screwdriver got a little off and slightly got into the piston. Is that "death" to that...

    Thanks for your reply..and I know from this board you are "expert"....will a motor get stuck that quick ? although it had been dry ( no oil ) for the last several months. I just never have had this happen and didn't know it could that quick. I will follow your advice. Many thanks

    Not really but I need to check the model number of the Zenith carb that is on it. Mostly, it is the pressure regulator that perplexes me..... guess when I get it to the point or running I many understand its need. Hmmmm
