    501 sickle bar parts

Forddoc, I misunderstood you, I thought you were talking about the ball end on the stabilizer itself. I need the early style guide that has a bolt through the clamp.

    Tire Rubbing Stearing Arm

That clicking noise was the rim moving around on the hub. The lugs nuts would hold the rim off center and the lugs would shift in the holes as the wheel turned.

How do you mow your hay/grass

Just from reading the vote tally, it looks like some tractor people would make really good fisherman. -)

    Soundguy- we need your help

Thanks. Mine measured the same, so that would make it an 841 with a 641 transmission. When Dad bought the tractor it had a loader on it. Either the transmission broke or they wanted the Sherman for working the loader. The code dates for the engine and rear end are close, and the serial...

    casting numbers

Don't know, but I sure am having fun trying to find out. (Some reason or another my wife is still huffy)

    casting numbers

The transmission does have a 641 stamp. The questions I have are: Do I have a 641 that someone has changed the engine? Or,do I have an 841 that someone has changed the transmission? I'm hoping to clear this up by matching the casting numbers. (I sure am glad...

    casting numbers

On a '59 641 the differential casting #'s are: 312480 92E. Would this number be for an 641 or 841, (or can you even tell)? Somethings been changed, and I'm trying to figure out if it's the engine or the transmission. Which ever the differential matches will tell me if I have a 641 or a 841...

I need to replace the spindle bushings on a 641. (1)Can it be done without taking the axle off the tractor? (2)What is the best way to do this?

    641 or 641workmaster?

Thanks all for your input. The reason (or part of it)that I ask, is that there are both 641 and 641 workmaster catagories in the tractor registry. I thought there might be a mechanical or production reason for it. Another question I have is, where can I go to find out about transmission and...

    641 or 641workmaster?

Thanks. At least I'm gaining ground on the tractor. This one is a 641, but has a 174 engine. I'm trying to find more information on the transmission and rearend casting numbers. Transmission #'s 310865 8BX

    641 or 641workmaster?

How can you tell the difference between a 641 and a 641 workmaster? (Other than the decals.) I made a comment to my wife of 35 years, about how I've worked with that tractor for over 30 years and never realized how little I knew about it. She gave me a long look, and then asked me if I could...
