    Harvest?

    Corn is in and 15-20 bu off last year.Dryland corn was 20bu.Beans are armpit high but no beans.Tough year.

    Gary,we replaced ours this year and they were wore out.Must remove throat but not a bad job.This makes sense if everything else is set right.

    1460 I.H. setup help

    1460 was the best combine ever owned.1680 next and now 2388.After minor problem after problem wish the 1460 was back.Run the rotor back to 350-400rpm and the concave back to recommended setting.Cobs are busting due to excessive rotor speed.And slow the fan speed down.We are only running 790-810...

    Blosom End rot.Due to a calcium defiency.Had it in bell peppers this year.Did not notice until fruit set and that was too late no matter what is done.

    2-3 weeks but the grade goes down the longer we pick.Never tried in greenhouse but I'm sure they would last longer.

    Sounds like downey mildew.We spray weekly or more depending on rainfall.Bravo or Manzate around here.

    Beans have just lapped and are blooming.Have corn worms-count5-8.Should i spray now or wait.Been told should wait to spray until after bloom is over.Any thoughts?

    You will be fine.Atrazine is a residual herbicide but will kill emerged weeds.

    LIQUID FERTILIZERS

    Bought a 3 loads of 25% last week for $189 per ton.Thats around $1 per gallon.As far as the 2-4D goes, just make sure you get the one that mixes with liqiud nitrogen and you'll be fine.Very common practice around here.

    N/C corn contracts, what are you guys getting

    Sold new crop December 09 for $5(15,000bushels).Be careful with puts/calls and make sure you have money readily available same day.It can very profitable if you understand it and stay on top of it.

    O/T garden problems

    Had problems with cucumbers germinating this year on first planting.Think maybe crickets?Used an insecticide for the second planting and nearly a perfect stand.

    Corn crop

    How is it looking.Most of ours looks good but see some yellowing.About a week and a half from laying by. Used no dry fertilizer- 4tnslitter . Cut popup/nitrogen to 8g each.
