    Not that I can see, I have never seen one with the dual row brushes and thought maybe that was an indicator of 24 volts.

    I saw that, however the starter has two rows of brushes and a twelve volt battery barely makes the starter make a noise, just wondering if it could be 24 before I start tearing it apart, just wondering if anybody had hands on experience with this.

    Farm all MD with D-281 starter ?

    It is not a super, just a straight MD serial #FDBK285459. It seems as though the starter won t reach the flywheel, bendix kicks out but won t even grind on the flywheel. Engine block is d-281 5665 if that helps. Thank you for the detailed info.
