Any plumbers on for a gas line question?

I've worked the oil and gas industry for many years, installing house line systems for land owners. I've only used teflon tape, as stated in another post its only a lubricant to help get the pipe taper tight for the seal. The reason I don't used dope for house systems is one lil glob in side of...

    Stihl 024 Chainsaw

Start your saw and let it idle sitting upright on the ground for a minute or so. Then pick it up while still running (don't throttle up) and turn it on it's side or upside down. If it stalls it usally means the carb is set too rich and fuel is building up in the crankcase. Adjust carb to correct...

    SEDIMENT BOWL LEAKING

This is normal. After the bowl is filled tighten it up. When you run the engine the carb will draw fuel through the bowl as it should. The reason it woun't fill is the float is not open and will not let the air out of the bowl when you turn the fuel on. I do this all thetime with my tractors.

    I must be missing something...

I worked for cadillac in the 80's. After getting my degree in motor tech. and design. I was very disheartened with one 3 week class I HAD to take called "Planned obsolesence". Basicly If ya build it too good the buyer will not have to replace it any time soon. There for you design it to wear out...

Water from a dug well with a bad smell?

First I'd check the well and make sure theres nothing in that shouldn't be, like a dead mouse, rat, snake or toad. I usally dump a gallon of bleach in my well and circulate it for an hour with the garden hose, Then pull the hose out in to the yard somewhere and let it run for a couple hours till...

1964 JD 110 missing piece (half moon) Wanted

The lower the serial number the more it's worth. 1964 is the first year John Deere put the 110's into full production. 1963 110's are the big money tractors because only 1000 where built for a pilot program and sold east of the mississippi, plus they only where 7 hp. 1964's are 8 hp.

    john deere mt hydralics

If by control quadrant you mean the lift arms under the seat, both should work togeather as their both on the same shaft. If the right one is working and the left one isn't, the shaft is broken or the splines are stripped. If their both weak it could be your pump or the power-trol has valve...

    My new brainstorm

I'd use white oak planks. Their the most rot restant and it'll add strenght to the trailer. also if your goin to paint it, only paint the top leave the bottom natural so it will breath. It'll be less likely to warp as well.

    Pettibone crane Detroit diesel problem

Sounds like the fuel control rack for the injectors needs adjusted. 2 stroke Detroit diesels (4-53's and 4-71's) don't have an externely timed injection pump. The timeing is set under the rocker cover at each injector by adjusting the length of the push rod. This adjustment can be very tricky to...

John Deere M hyd pressure side line size ????

I wouldn"t use the 3/8 line,it"ll make the touch-o-matic run slow and will also cause the pump to work harder. Call your dealer and ask about the line. I think you"ll be suprized how many parts Deere still carry"s for the "M"s.
