2000 4 cylinder dies under load

2000 4 cylinder gas. The tractor idles well forever. After about one minute under load, either mowing or lifting round bales, the tractor sputters and dies. Choking helps for a few seconds. I cleaned out the gas tank. It is a replacement, so rust is not an issue. The fuel flow is...

    carb

I have had two Zeniths, both to replace the 312954 for my 641 and 2000 4 cylinder. Both Zeniths seemed to have float problems within one year of purchasing. TISCO replaced the Zeniths with the MS aftermarket model and things have been fine.

NAA Running rough after 1 hour

Agd2Perf"s vapor lock possibility may be the answer. I had similar problems with my 641. The solution in my case was to reroute the fuel line to minimize the exposure of the fuel line to the hot exhaust manifold. Where the fuel line was close to any hot engine parts, I wrapped the line with...

    Fast idle on new carb

Royse, Excuse me for mispelling your name earlier. Steve

    Fast idle on new carb

Royce, You nailed it. Even though I thought the idle screw was nearly out all the way, it turns out it wasn't even close. I must have made another 20 complete turns to get the butterfly to seat in the throat. From there, I put the carb back on and made the usual back and forth adjustments...

    Fast idle on new carb

I put a new Zenith carb on my Ford 2000 4 cylinder. The tractor starts immediately but the idle is super fast, in fact, it is so fast that I cannot increase the rpm"s by increasing the throttle. As far as I can tell, there are only two adjustment screws; one over the bowl which is probably the...

    Almost melted solenoid

Two weeks ago I completely rewired my Ford 2000 4 cylinder 12 volt system. There is no push button on the tractor at all, so it uses the car-type key switch and a four post solenoid. Every part was new. The solenoid is the TISCO 311006. My 960 had been converted to the same type of key...

I should have stayed inside; 960 radiator damaged.

It is leaking. Thanks for the tip.

I should have stayed inside; 960 radiator damaged.

I thought I could quickly replace the 3 blade fan on my 960 with a new 6 blade pusher fan, so that my wife would not complain about me smelling like fuel. As a result, I scraped the inside of the radiator with the new fan during installation. Is there an easy repair for this or will I need to...

    Ford 6000 price

If you look at the lack of replacement parts for the 6000, I would say do not trade for that tractor. For example, Yesterday"s Tractor does not even offer a radiator, water pump or basic steering components for the 6000. The same is true for most retailers.

    960 hydraulics will not raise

My 960 wide front end was emptying fluid from the hydraulic system into the transmission case. The hydraulics worked as long as fluid was present. This is how the tractor performed when I purchased it, so the tractor has not been used. It has been on my to-do list for a year or so. After...
