    8N rear hub removal.

Thanks for replies. Since tires were already off both sides and being replaced I couldn t drive in 8 s with loosened nut. That s why I tried using the "hat" and banging it back and forth. Will look for a different puller (hopefully borrow or rent and not $150) Thanks again!

    8N rear hub removal.

I have two loose studs on my rear hub. I am replacing tube, tire and rim. I ve got an 8" gear puller on it and have used the hat from old rim loosely bolted to jerk on hub. Anyone had any experience with pneumatic hub puller or the "sliding" hub puller?

    PTO leak

I am getting a leak around my PTO retainer. I'm assuming the fix is replacing the gasket (C5NN747A) but wondered if anyone has found that it is a good idea to go ahead and replace the seal (D8NN703AA) as well? Will the entire hydraulics need to be drained?[/b]

    6V positive ground lights

My 52 8N has a fuse installed in the lighting wiring. With 6V positive ground is that necessary. Lights no longer work and old fuse is dark. If a fuse is necessary (not shown in any wiring diagrams) what amperage would be recommended?

    wiring for 8N

On my 52 8N my lights quit working. There is current 6V at the terminal block but no current at the switch itself. The wire from terminal block to switch has a cylindrical block midway in the wire that is about 1" in length. I'm assuming it serves as a resistor but I can't find any information...

    high oil pressure

Thanks for all help and comments. My gear and valve job couldn't have been done w/o this forum. Just to answer the questions, I replaced spring thinking I was being proactive. I'm pretty sure I used 40 wt oil. The sealant was brushed on in thin layer on both sides of the gasket. I believe...

    high oil pressure

Thanks to all. Unfortunately I replaced the original spring. Hopefully it's among my saved parts.

    high oil pressure

I replaced the spring in the relief valve. I was pretty careful with the sealer so I doubt if it is the problem. Without replacing the gauge what's the procedure on testing the existing one for accuracy? Thanks for your help with this!

    high oil pressure

It would run in the 40 range. Never would start at the 80. The same gauge but I did replace the wiring harness.

    high oil pressure

After replacing the timing gear, valves, new head gasket and carb rebuild the tractor starts and runs great. The oil pressure however starts at close to 80 and drops to the 55 range after warming up. I've tried removing the cap on oil filler tube but pressure remains high (30 is the normal...

    Timing w/o a light

No. It is more of what I would call a typical backfire that comes from the exhaust. I have not tampered with the main jet though much from bench settings so it could be lean. It just seems like everything I read always says to check the timing before fiddling too much with the carb.
