    My wood stove

Thinking about this, I thought I would share my solution to this. We heat our shop with a wood stove about 24" from the plywood wall in a corner. I took sheets of 1/2" cement board and stood them off from the wall using ceramic fence post insulators screwed in to provide an air space behind the...

Thanks for your description of the dilemma and providing the rest of the story. Meanwhile, many lessons could be drawn from the discussion. I am glad you came out whole and the son stepped up

This message is a reply to an archived post by taem on August 20, 2023 at 22:52:06. The original subject was Gallignani round bale wrapper. Well, I found a manual thanks to a local dealer who used to sell these years ago. He now mostly sells ag lime, dairy stalls, mats etc. but had some useful...

    Gallignani round bale wrapper

Recently bought a used Gallignani 880p rb wrapper and am looking for a user manual. I found a parts manual on line, but no English version of the operator manual Anyone have access to one? or know where used parts might be found? It is a good stout machine, but some info about its quirks would...

    rust in air compressor

Just bought a used 60 gal air compressor 5 hp motor, in reasonable shape. there is some rust in the water drained from the tank. I plan to plumb it in my shop and am cleaning it up now. I know I will need to drain it after each use, but does it make sense to try to rust proof the inside of the...

    2640 diesel fuel system

I would vote with the person who said to crack the fittings on the injector pump. I had a 2640 that was the devil to prime after changing the fuel filter. new pump did not solve the problem; opening up downstream did.

In fact, he digs and pours a lot of cellar holes. He's a jack of all trades, excavator, logger, maple syrup producer.

what do you think about this?

point taken. I should have specified more. And, as another pointed out, there was no engineering spelled out. I left everything to him

what do you think about this?

Thanks for the comments so far. No, I did not tell him how to do the job, just that I wanted a slab of a certain thickness. I did not specify rebar or mesh, and he used the concrete with some type of fiber mesh. I would note that I noticed that he had poured up to and around the telephone poles...

what do you think about this?

I would value your thoughts about a situation I've had recently: a couple of years ago I built a 40x60 pole barn for machine storage (tractors among them) with one part gravel floor with stall mats and one part cement slab 4-5. The whole place had a six inch perimeter drain surrounding the...

    JD2240 MFWD always partially engaged

My JD 2240 appears to be stuck partially in 4wd. Once before, it could not be placed in 2wd at all. The electrical coil solenoid had gone and it defaulted permanently to 4wd. Problem went away with new solenoid unit several years ago. However, again it seems not to go fully into 2 wd. Cleaned...
