    There is no need to add oil to the governor. The governor is lubricated by the engine oil.

    I have used Apple Cider Vinegar. Just soak some rags in the stuff and they move out. Also works good to keep chipmunks and red squirrels out.

    I have used a sewing tape measure with very good luck. Wrap it around and get the length of belt needed.

    Check the large spring inside of the governor. While you have the governor check that the thrust bearing is good.

    If you can turn the shaft. You have to turn it out of the bolster towards the front of the tractor. Make sure the joint where the u-joints are is loose and half moon key is removed. If you can not turn the shaft you have to remove the bull gear out the top of the bolster. Then shaft should slide...
