    lube that baby up, wiggle it back and forth a lot clean it up and try again.

    what everyone else said battery connections and condition, starter switch may be gunked up, or rod seized hard to say not being there thats by best bet, after checking that you can always engage the starter manually.

    Ive seen people use a winch on the ceiling of their shops but it can be sketchy, with some Enginuity you could fab something up with an I beam and a cheap harbor freight winch, depending on how tall your shop/garage.

    some people say to get engine to tdc so both valves are closed also but ive never had a problem with my small engines.

    What is this Tool?

    found this tool in a buddies tool box he got for free from an old tool designer. Anyone know what this is? Looks kind of like its meant to bend wire or tubing, jaw doesnt open up very far.

    if youre trying to fix a fuel tank i would use like Nordic said a permatex on it that is meant for it to fix pinholes sand before and repaint, also a good way to clean out nasty fuel tanks is to use pure lye.

    if it works on your 1456 I don't see why it wouldn't on your idi, as long as that battery will fit that is It should work, Looking online it seems as if you might have to make your own battery tray, but some simple Enginuity should solve that problem.
