    New Chevy numbers, HELP!

I finally got the 1957 Chevy COE 7700 to the shop where i could use a light and read the numbers. On the passenger side engine block, in front of the head seem to be 2 sets of numbers: LOA?15285 then:V1216XTC. On the drivers side rear engine block: 3959532. Can anyone tell me what this engine...

    57 Chevy coe engine

Would the Buick engine look completely different from a Chevy? Would the valve covers stand up straight on a Buick engine? This one does not say anything on the valve covers, but look like Chevy.

    57 Chevy coe engine

The coe must have had the engine changed sometime in its life. Supposed to be a 322 Buick engine. But looks like a small block chevy with the M looking exaust manifolds. The numbers stamped on the block in front of the right head are: 15285 or 15235 and V1276XT0 or V1216XTO Cant read a couple of...

    1957 Chevy COE question.

Thanks for the reply. Glad I didn't try to loosen the lugs yet. I don,t think its the spoke wheels. They look like steel, with those bands to hold the tire on. Think they have 5 oblong holes in the wheel. Didn't notice any type clamps.

    1957 Chevy COE question.

Its the 7700 series. The front brakes are stuck. I noticed an 'L' stamped into the stud for the front lugbolts. I assume this means they are left handed threads?? Would the rear duals be left handed also? Have not attempted to loosen any yet. Thanks for any info.

55 1st series COE VIN question

Jerry, thanks very much for all the information ! I have cleared a way to pull it out of the woods. It was drove up there and left to where it could be rolled off a hill to start, many years ago. Maybe 10 to 12 years ago and just forgot about. I don't know if the cab is worth restoring or not...

55 1st series COE VIN question

I just got back from the woods and found the vin number, where you said ( upper left door post) it reads 7c57w109785. I assume this makes it a 1957 model. Do the numbers tell anything else? Thanks.

    1955 chevy coe

Also where do I find the vin number or info tag on this truck? May be the same location as pickups? Thanks

    1955 chevy coe

Just aquired a 55 Chevy 7700 big truck, coe. I have contacted vendors as to body repair panels for the cab and doors. They have everything for the 55 pickups, but are not sure the cab and doors are the same as a pickup. The actual upper cab and doors look the same, anyone know for sure? Thanks...
