    D 14 Ring gear

well after getting the ring gear on and one different rear tire then the tractor back together with a new distributor cap and different 12 volt internally resisted coil. we go to start it. I would start and idle good but not rev up. The guys who used to use it said it did have carburetor...

    D 14 Ring gear

the ring gear is a 93 tooth. the clutch disk and pressure plate are good. looks like they were replaced not long before we got the tractor so its going back together.

    D 14 Ring gear

We did get our D 14 split which is an easy tractor to do. We ordered a new ring gear from Agco before Christmas but it still hasn’t got here. Amazing how much fuzz was in the bell housing from the mice.

    Rokol Tractor

Well after getting the rear tires on the Rokol we put it in the shop to spruce it up a bit. The hood had lots of scratches and scrapes so we decided to paint it. The old 6 volt generator wasn’t working so I put a 12 volt alternator on it. Now I have always been led to believe that the FD98...

    Rokol Tractor

I guess it is like a torque converter or more like an oil clutch. I was reading that it does not multiply the input torque like a torque converter does. It is a 1to 1 ratio when it is going. There was quite a number of vehicles which used it back before automatic transmissions. It was quite...

    Rokol Tractor

We finally got some rear tires on our Rokol 98. I played with it a bit to see how the fluid drive works. It does work good. I’ve always read that the Custom Tractor which is what the Rokol actually is had a dodge drive train. This one has a New Process 5 speed transmission and a Timken double...

Is draining water / antifreeze before winter the right move?

If we had weak antifreeze I would drain it into pails and cover them with something. never had problems with a water pump in over 45 years. Ive heard many times that if there is a bit of antifreeze in the water it wont hurt the block. I wont take that chance. if its like 50/50 no problem I will...

    Cross engine case

It is priced a bit high in my opinion but thats just me, It is hard to find a cross engine case with the manifolds intact but they are around i guess. we got lucky because ours is in good shape. The 22-40 is a good sized tractor though, very desirable to some people.

    Cross engine case

Yes you’re right. This one sat most of its life under a roof on a sawmill but they must have used it for field work some because of the wide wheels. When my friend got it he had it in a shed for many years. His Dad had one when he was small and he was pulling a breaking plow with a 4 horse team...

    sealed ujoints

On our big winch truck the pump was driven off the front of the engine. There was a short drive shaft in there which was next to impossible to grease the small joints which were about the size of a small truck so they would put non greasable ones in.When the mechanics would change the joint they...

    Case L

We had this Case L for about one year sitting out back. We finally pulled it up and poked it in the shop. Engine was siezed of course with the pistons 2 at the top and 2 at the bottom. After some work we got the pistons out and got the rings loosened up. #4 piston and sleeve came out together...
