    I was wondering what the transmission cover or deck for a 39 H is worth.I have a chance to buy one but I'm wondering if the price is in the ball park.

    Farmall F 20 overdrive

    I was wondering if someone could tell me how much is involved with the add on overdrive or road gear for an F20 Farmall. Do you need to make changes in the transmission or is it all contained in the box that mounts on the front.

    Farmall M....clunking noise.

    Any time an engine gets low on oil and starts to make noise the damage is done. It is probably going to throw a rod if you keep running it. Pull the pan and look to see what is going on. You can take off the rod caps and see what has happened.

    H Amp meter box has no light switch??

    I bought an amp gauge box like that on ebay a couple of months ago. There is no sign of a hole for the switch In the cover where they usually are.I assumed it was on an early M or H with the bosch no-battery lights.

    Farmall M running issues?!

    It could be a leak in the intake manifold where i attaches to the head. Spray some WD 40 around the gasket area for 3 and 4 and see if it hits then.

    The bullet style would be correct.You can get good ones on ebay. Before you bid ask the seller if the reflectors are bright and also ask about the amount of rust. Repairs are available from OEM and others.

    The hot setting would be for burning kerosene or distillate fuel and the cold setting is for gasoline.

    Yes, there should be springs and and washers under the nuts that hold the radiator. They allow for slight twisting of the frame or side rails.

    Overheating generator

    There used to be a warning sticker on the battery box that said" generator will burn out if the ground cable is broken or disconnected". I remember that on a new B Farmall that my Dad bought in 1940.

    lighting and amps

    It is necessary that the switch box is grounded well. When you switch to high charge the generator field is grounded thru the switch box.

    Thank you both for the reply. The distributor came with the tractor. I have it on and will get a new coil.
