    IH 715 concave--sources

Any suggestions who to contact for a new or good used small wire concave for an IH 715?

    IH 715 concave

I want to convert our corn and soybean special 715 to better thresh small grains, especially spring wheat but also barley and oats. Since the concave is worn I'll start there. Any suggestions on the type of concave I should get, and where to get it? I am in BC, in western Canada (so probably...

    grain cleaning set up

Am looking for advice or info on setting up a simple & small bin system to handle grain from our old Viking 4 roller fanning mill. We run about 30 tonnes through a year and I'd like to simplify the process (aka not do some much bucketing!). We currently auger out of the storage bins with a 3...

    bin capacity IH 715

Our IH 715 is supposed to hold 97 bu. Where is that measured from--when the bin is absolutely full to overflowing? When it is flat level?

IH 715: reasonable expectations for harvesting

Thanks. Barley was about 3.5 ft high. Heads pretty much all at the top. What height would you have cut it at--left a 2 ft stubble? 1 ft? Or ???

IH 715: reasonable expectations for harvesting

What is reasonable to expect a IH 715 with 13 ft straight-cut header do in an hour or day? I just finished 5 acres of well over 100 bu/acre barley that was slightly tough. It took about 2.5 hours, so I was doing about 2 acres per hour. I felt that the combine was working about as hard as it...

I could use a manual for a Viking four roll grain cleaner. . .Anyone have experience with these as I have a few operating/set up questions?

    securing 810 header

Latches on the bottom of my 13 ft 810 header don"t stay attached to the IH 715. As a result I was leary of setting the header on the ground and I missed a lot of straw (and the stubble is too high). Is there a danger of the header actually coming off? Is there a way to get the latches to...

715 feeder and feeder chain issues

A few questions related to our recently purchased 715: --we are having problems with wheat balling behind header auger and not being picked up by feederhouse chain. It seems to be more of a problem in sparse areas and also when combining downhill. We slacked off feederhouse chain far beyond...

    transporting/driving 715

I'm looking at $600 to get our IH 715 trucked to and from a small contract job, or I can drive it. Would take about 2.5 hours each way. Is this unduly hard on the running gear or does it matter?

combine standing rye with MH 35?

will my MH 35 be able to straight-cut combine a couple of acres of standing rye? Rye is 5-7 ft tall. I did a bit of rye last year but even with the header up as high as possible the bats were not effective. Any suggestions on technique welcome.

    715 controls configuration

When functioning properly should the variable speed control offer an almost infinite range of speeds within the gear or is a bit more of an off/on, high range/low range kind of thing? As is, the pedal & linkage is pretty sticky so it is clunky and involves what seems like too much stomping to...
