    manifold on ford 3000

I wasn't paying attention while plowing snow and my exhaust pipe caught a tree limb. Bend the exhaust pipe but then noticed it cracked off part of the top of the manifold-damn! Are there any tricks to getting these manifold bolts out that have been in there for 40 years?

    jd 2640 hydraulics

I had my 2640 in the shop last month for some internal leaks to the hydraulic system. They split the tractor and indeed found some leaky lines. I got it back seemed to work fine, at least the loader and remote hydraulics, steering, etc. But today I was hooking up something on the 3-pt (first time...

    hydraulic controls

My loader suddenly stopped going up. I think its the control valves. It's made by Metro. Attached is a picture. Anybody know how to properly open it up to check them? I can't find a diagram. Its on a 1964 Ford 3000.

    hydraulic lift on Ford 3000

My bucket has been working fine until this weekend and all of a sudden the loader won't lift. The bucket will still tilt fine and the other hydraulic work fine. Do you think its in the control valve or the arm cylinders? What's the easiest way to find out?

    start problem JD 2640

Sometimes when I'm trying to start my tractor, the starter won't turn (new batteries). It will start after I mess with the left side shift lever. Isn't there a safety switch inside to make sure you have it in park? Can I check this?

    JD hydraulics

Hi Gang, Two simple (hopefully) questions. I just bought a JD2640 w/ JD loader. 1.) When I connect a hydraulic hose for my disc on the back, it leaks badly. Looks like there"s an o ring in the female (tractor) side. Can I pull that out and replace it? 2.) The loader bucket doesn"t stay up. It...

    still have hydraulic problems

My JD 2640 hydrualics are still giving me fits. The loader is slow and the lines chatter a lot. The mechanic thinks the intake for the transmission pump is cracked and we've overfilled it a bit which hasn't helped. We changed the filter and cleaned the screen. If you work the bucket or 3-point...

    JD 2640 hydraulics

I have a JD 2640 with hydraulics (bucket, 3-pt, and remote ) that really labor and rattle most of the time. Sometimes it works fine. We've changed the filter, cleaned screen and some other o rings. The mechanic seems to think the transmission pump in back has a cracked or broken intake line and...

    hydraulics

Here"s probably a simple question. I just got a JD2640 with a loader. Sometimes the loader struggles to go up, especially at lower RPMs and the bucket slowly tips forward when its loaded with weight. Is it a valve, the pump itself? Other ideas?
