    Hydraulic lift lever Quadrant

    I need to change out the quadrant on my '52 8n and need to know if there's an easy way to remove the lever plate[pt#2N516B per Fig205 in manual] Mine's frozen on the shaft. I've got it soaking with penetrant, Don't want to get too agressive with the aluminum and bust it. Any help appreciated.

    Sunny day-moved some snow

    Got leaks in gas tank bowl assembly sealed, did some snow moving. It's melting some, way too warm for Feb.

    Looking for a Hood Door Hinge

    I've replaced my hood on the '52 8n and one leg of the flip door hinge is broken at the bolt hole on the door. It works with the other leg okay, does anyone have or know where to get a replacement? Thx in Advance Chad

    Thread Seal for Gas

    Is there a really good thread seal for the fiting/bowl valve to a gas tank? My 8n needs just a little seal.

    Got some better sheetmetal

    I found an older 8n being parted out so I traded my hood/doglegs, fenders & a great gas tank. Upgraded the looks, and will make for easier for future sheetmetal work/painting.

    Got'er going

    Have the '52 going and have tuned it up. Have run it for a couple hours, PTO & hyd lift working good, no fliud leaks. Shown next to my Case 1030. No snow removal so far this year, LaNina...

    Won't Fire up...

    I've got the '52 side dizzy all back together and spent the last two days with no luck of getting 'er running. I've installed the Pertronix Ignitor and Flame Thrower 3ohm coil as per directions [no resistor]. Had spark but plugs weren't wet. Cleaned carb. Ignition was off and batt disconected...

    Water Temp Gauge

    Has anyone found/used a water temp guage that would screw directly into the side petcock/drain hole on a 8n engine? Seems it'd be convienant. Or is there one that the thermo would fit into that hole/cavity?

    Fireing Order on Dist

    Dell just noted that on my '52 8n dist that the spark plug wire plug-in firing order is 1243 CCW on the dizzy-cap. In the manual FO86 the little arrows on the shaft/cam lobe point in clockwise direction. What does that mean? Shouldn't the shaft rotate CCW too?

    Setting Distributor

    Got my distributor for '52 side mount ready to install and wondering what opinions are out there as to where the oiler points, FO82 shows it at the 7o'clock area, but I've seen 'em with it at the 5o'clock position. Any pros or cons? to position.

    Starter motor

    I got my starter motor remounted in the block today and noticed that the shaft would move back & forth about 3/8" but spins freely and smoothly. Do I have a problem I should check out before I light 'er up?

    Light bulb as Diode

    I have been reading over K LaRue's 12volt conversion pg & am using the late 8n wiring diagram for my 52 8n side mount dist set-up [has existing alt conversion] Was wondering how the use of a reccomended 50v, 1.0amp, 3-5watt incondesant bulb works in place of a inline diode on the field/#1 alt wire?

    Oil slinger

    Have been consulting Hobos site for engine rebuild, He says: "...oil slinger on the end of crank before you put the timing cover on..." Can someone show a pic of the "oil slinger"? not seeing it in the manual & don't recall having one on my '52 8n motor. Thx
