    640 now charging...

    Ford 640 had to be jumped (as per Bruce 50 tips) 3 times yesterday on hogging job.... totally disconnected bat today... gave bat good charge... then pulled a "SouNdguy" on VR polarity... simply arced Bat and Field terminal, and she charges just fine now... Bat tester ran 6.2v with engine off...

    I traded my 39 9n and 52 8n for a near MINT 640... they both had issues that I didn't have the time, nor the finances to deal with right now... I run a business, and need to work NOW... 9n had sticking lift... starter lockup...tires shot... 8n all banged up... pump chatter... bad relief valve...

    Time to do pump rebuild on 8n

    .... My 8n will drop a heavy load... I can assume the relief valve is shot... I see no leakage from piston, and she will hold box up all night without drifting down... The pump sometimes makes noise under a load.... I guess I will have to maybe drop the pump and rebuild it.... I hope I know...

    9n no fire.... tore apart.... copper strip in points making contact with clip for condensor wire.... would this ground it out? ... had a buddy of mine work on this over the summer... new points, coil, condensor, dist, wires, ect... but, the copper strip extends longer than in any pics I have...

    9n won't fire

    ... had a friend of mine replace everything electrical on my 9n this year.... (before I found this blog)..... ... she ran good for a few months... but, been hard starting lately... would "turn over and turn over"... but only start "just when I let go of starter".... so, I figured weak...

    52 8n hyd pump noise

    The pump on my 8n is making noise... will sometimes lift strong with no noise, then at times makes a noise like a freight train wheel with a flat spot on it.... sometimes, with a load in lift box, I have to coax it to lift... Just using to haul wood around the next few weeks before it goes in...

    ... ok... my 9n hydraulic lift will work fine for a while... then all of a sudden, no response... It "sticks" where it is... won't lift... won't go down... Issue is NOT cam follower pin to my knowledge... If I let her sit... the next day, everything works fine... and then again, 20-30 mins...
