    Grandsons plowing

It’s been a long time since I posted , much has changed but I think I got it figured out. Two of my grandsons joined me at the MN State plowing contest. They did great for not having drove either tractor until the day before the match. I couldn’t post the video I wanted as I was told they were...

    ACG Project

During this project I kept thinking of Loren. He was a master craftsman and would have used steel for his cabs. I am not a master fabricator working with metals nor with wood for that matter. Using only straight gain ash and patience I am pleased this turned out very good. Plexiglass in all...

Re: 970 powershift, pressure, PTO, brakes...

With no pressure in the PTO circuit but still the PTO turns means you have friction in the clutch pack, normally this is caused by warped clutch discs. I have seen them bad enough they can pull a pretty good load, Rod.

    Question for Dieseltech

PES4A 80D 420LS, PES4A 85D 420LS and PES4A 95D 420LS are pumps that will bolt up and work on 7-870 tractors. Can you tell me what will or what will not occur by using a pump not listed for a given tractor. The 80D is for a 770 and the 85D is for a 870. The fuel can be adjusted to match the HP of...

    Moline Grain Drill Age

This recently purchased drill is painted different than my previous drill. The colors green red and yellow I have not noticed on other MM drills. Does anyone know the years this color combination was used. This drill is a 12 ft with 6 in spacing.

    1290 and Cultivator

I was looking forward to giving the 1290 a try at pulling the Cultivator. It works great and better than I thought it would. In fact because it is so easy to get on and off and turns tight on the ends it might be my new favorite for this job. I dont cultivate a lot of acres anymore but every...

    140 Baler

I went to look at a Baler where to ad said old Case . After inspecting it I was very surprised at how original and clean it was. The seller explained his father purchased it new and has never left their farm. Furthermore it rarely sat outside overnight as his dad insisted it be returned to the...

    1290 and JT Plow

I tried out my new to me tractor and plow combo today. Soil conditions are just to moist and mellow on my farm fields to get a land polish on the mold boards. I just could not get it to scour properly this spring. It has not turned over soil in over 30 years and I buffed on them to get them as...

    1270 Planting

At my age I find myself unwilling to change my ways of doing things. I have planted with this tractor for 15 years and took pride in my straight even rows. The ez steer monitor I purchased years ago for spraying guidance using its light bar. I had discontinued using it for a number of years now...

    Rust Removal?

Restoring a moldboard plow and of course they are rusty. Is there a super duper product that will actually clean up the surface rust or should I just start buffing? Thanks for suggestions, Rod.

    1290 Finished, well almost

Still looking for a K201998 tack drive adapter and a K301063 fuel gauge sending unit. Both no longer available from Case. For the base unit of this tractor being a 990 DB Case did a great job updating them . I really enjoy operating it. I wish we would have had the chance to see and operate the...

    Never say never!

Not many years ago I swore I would never own anything other than a genuine Case tractor . Recuperating from a major surgery this fall and winter has given me time to research the DB tractors. I was impressed by what I read and learned of these tractors and the very strong following that they...

380 CK or a slightly different DB 885

I never thought I would own anything other than a genuine Case. This little tractor caught my attention when I seen it was a one owner tractor with only 226 actual hours. I look forward to finding a few jobs for it to do this spring. Rod.

    380 CASE Production Numbers?

I do not know what Case changed on the DB 885 to give it a different paint job and number. Tractor data says they were built from 71-80, I know little about these tractors but thought they were around longer than that. I think the DB plant was closed in 1988. If anyone can shed some light on...

Best Oil For Outdoor Wood Project?

I am making several wood projects out of rough ash I milled several years ago. My wife prefers I do not paint them and suggested I oil treat them. Thanks for ideas, Rod.
