    Massey Harris 22?

I have two of these and they both have splined rear axles with 11.2 x 34 tires. I have two parts books and neither one shows 34 inch wheels or splined axles. Also these tractors will go pretty fast in road gear. Are they uncommon? They are in Northern Utah. Seems like the hood would block your...

Oliver 60 in the shop for repairs

Hope I live long enough to get it done. It has a wide front. And is a five speed. Well, that is once I put all of the gears and shafts in it. It sat out in the big blue shed with the cover off of the mechanical lift. Even the oil slinger gear had the teeth rusted off.

Just like in the good old days!

This is how we did it in the good old days! Well, a couple of weeks ago anyway. The guy that thought up those side elevators sure saved a lot of backs.

Oliver Old style 88 power beyond hydraulic?

I use my 88 to pull swather. The swather has a swing cylinder for the tongue that is a two way. But the header just uses one way cylinders. I have a nice control valve with a detent on one spool that would work great if I could just run it off of the original system. The OEM valves don't work...

    What KIND of solder?

I have a Massey Harris 22 and the radiator leaked at the top neck. The neck is a piece of cast iron that was riveted to the top of the radiator and then soldered. that joint was bad and had a lot of dirt in it from over the years. I drilled out the rivets and cleaned the cast piece with the wire...

    Wheel rake with two wheels?

So the neighbor has given me a OTMA two wheel rake that just hooks on the three point hitch. I have not used one before. It looks like the wheels run out to the right of the right tire. Is that correct? I was wondering that since it only has two wheels, why not just put the two right behind the...

    Massey Harris 22 hydraulic question?

So I have several of the hydraulic cylinders that run the three point hitch. One of them has 3/8' ports and the others have 1/2'. In the parts book I have it shows that there was two different hydraulic pumps used. Just wondering if it would work to use the one with 3/8' since it is the one in...

    Dry steering wheel?

So I have a new project for this winter. A Massey Harris 22. After setting out for a few years, the steering wheel is all dry and leaves your hands black. The wheel is not peerfect but is all there. What would be best to clean it and make it sorta smooth?

    Happened again this fall!

So I got done with the garden shed I was building for my wife and realized my shop was in bad need of a cleaning. So after a couple days I got the work bench done. Even put things back in the file draw. The Oliver 60 in the next bay is almost buried.

So I have an old cub cadet and a LX 178 John Deere. Just thinking of getting a zero turn because the yard has many trees and other obstuctions. Also would like to keep the barnyard mowed. Now I mow around the buildings with the cadet and then mow the main part with a 6 foot finish mower on my...

    One way cylinder?

I have a White 2-105 with two detent valves. A neighbor wants to give me a swing arm IH hay mower. It has a two way ram to swing it from left to right. But the ram that lifts the cutter bar only has one line. Will it work on my tractor with just the one line? How would I get it to stay in a...

    Heston 4650 hay dog trouble

So I took the plunger out to see why it was so noisey. No bearings were bad and did not see that it was hitting anything. Then I noticed that the top hay dogs on each side were getting pushed out at the end of the stroke by a part of the plunger weldment. So I took my cutoff wheel and removed a...

    Nice classified add

Here in Utah one of the local TV stations has a website. And they have a popular section for classified adds. Sometimes I go to , Industrial, Farm equipment. And just see what is for sale. I found this add and it warmed my heart a little. As I do some custom small bailing with an Oliver 1600 and...

Ever try to sell used disc blades?

I have a pretty good pile of them and don't think I will need them. So I posted them on FB market place. The people want to buy a couple and make some sort of cooking dish. Say they sand them up good and weld legs on them. Build a fire under them. Selling them this way is a pain in the

    Oliver 60 numbers?

So the number on the brass tag riveted to the engine block is 615684. Tractor data shows that to be a 1946 year build. Just above the brass tag and to the left there is a flat spot with the number 673327 stamped into it. Is that just the engine serial number? It has some gears in a add on cover...

    Couple tractors had,

Might make a good puzzle if someone knows how to do it and post it. My daughter gave me the seed for the sunflowers. They tried to raise them for a cash crop one year in eastern Colorado. They do turn towards the sun.
