641 Workmaster occassionally missing/backfiring

641 noises, coolant

The new 8n from New Holland
I heard a bunch of hype about a new 8n. So I check out the New Holland 8n site but it won't load. The local dealer has no information about them either. I thought it was to be on sale by now? Anybody know anything or own one? I suppose it's on hold just like the auto industry.- 46Chev

starter drive
Helping a neighbor out with putting the new "clutch" style starter drive on the starter of his 9n. We could not get the shaft gear to retract to the rear of the shaft in order for the straight gear to clear the flywheel ring gear. Splitting 9n
Neighbor has a 1939 9n that had the starter bind up on the ring gear. Long story short is that it ate up about 6 teeth in a row and the ring gear needs replacing. Thing is neither of us has split a tractor but it looks straight forward. So once split, (besides ring gear), what should we check...- 46Chev

MH44 Oil cartridge?
I bought an MH44 not long ago and need to replace the paper oil filter along with an oil change. What is the correct wix filter number? or perhaps Baldwin? What grade oil do these old tractors like for light use? Mine is the corporate 4 cylinder.- 46Chev

MH44 Sputtering
My MH44 gas 4-cyl. loses power, sputters, and sometimes dies when I either use road gear or advance the gas in the upper third of the quadrant in any gear under no load. MH44 3pt exploded view
Can anyone scan an exploded view of the factory 3pt hitch for a MH44 and send it to me? I don't have a later copy of the parts manual for this model that features this. Wrong carburator?
I recently finished rebuilding the carb. on my 641 Workmaster. I noticed the serial numbers on the carb as well as the sediment bowl are from/for the larger 172 ci engine. Is this hurting my tractor with its smaller displacement or is it giving me more hp and eating more gas? -

Does anyone know where to get a new left lift fork for a 1959 641 other than a New Holland dealer? They sell em' for the n-series in the catalogs are those the same or a little undersized? Mine's bent but still functional. Also, does anyone fabricate/sell the mesh screen for the grille? -
