    146 and 148 JD loaders

I believe that the 146 has a single cylinder for the bucket. The 148 has dual bucket cylinders.

Adding loader vavle to a 1970 2520D SyncroRange

I have a 2520 gas with a 148 loader. There is a metal hydraulic line that runs under the platform to a pressure control valve under the cowling (just to the right of tachometer). I replaced the metal hydraulic line with a hydraulic hose and tee-d in between the hydraulic hose and the pressure...

    148 Loader Cylinders

The V-packing is tight. I wound up orienting the v-packing the wrong direction and it goes in a bit easier that way. But stil sheared some off. It is working fine & hasn"t leaked yet. Be sure to remove the grease zerk out of the end of the cylinder before you bounce it on a board on a...

    2520 Radiator Leak

I smell anti-freeze when it is running. It appears to be a pin hole leak. Would I be better off trying to get the radiator repaired or buy new? 1970 2520 gas.

    Ford 101 3pt 3 Bottom plow 14 moldboards plow

Per a Ford 101 operator's manual, the 14" plow needs 56" front wheel spacing & 60" rear wheel spacing. Those are center-to-center measurements.

Your reply makes perfect sense. I appreciate your input. A couple of the other replies had me scratching my head. Thanks!!

    Wheel Spacing

How is wheel spacing measured? I'm trying to set up properly for a plow. Plow manual says 30" wheel spacing. 2520 with 15.5 X 38's. Plow is an F145H 3X16. Is it from the centerline of the tractor to the center of the tire? Or is it from the centerline of the tractor to the inside edge of...

    learning to read land descriptions

As a real estate appraiser, I read legal descriptions on a daily basis. They are usually easiest to comprehend if read backwards. Start at the Section, Township & Range. Spin your chair around so that you are facing north. Draw a square on a piece of paper. That square represents 5,280 feet...

    1958 420w touchomatic seal replacement

I bought the seals at the JD dealer. After thinking about this a while, I remember that I had the rockshaft housing machined to accept the 430 bushings. They pressed them into the housing. The bushings are kind of a honeycomb oilite material about 2" wide, maybe 1/8" thick. The I.D...

    1958 420w touchomatic seal replacement

Jamie, If you have service manual, it is not that difficult to tear down and rebuild the hydraulic system on your 420. I did one a few years ago. Should have done it about ten years prior. The rockshaft on my 420 did not have any bearings. It just ran in an oil bath and was metal on...

    Remote Cylinder

I bought a remote cylinder at an auction. It has a casting number of R27424R. It is either black with some green paint showing through or vice versa. Single cylinder stop. 1" pins. One ear of the cylinder stop is broken off. Any idea on what era of tractors this was produced with?

    Which Plow to Purchase

It is 60 hp. I'll go with the 3-bottom. I've plowed gardens for several years with a mounted 2-bottom plow. But I can see the advantage of a semi-mounted plow. Thanks for all of the advice!!
