    1945 2N - lift issues. ( what am I in for? )

It sounded to mechanical that I never guessed it could be the pressure releif making such a sound. Thanks guys, I will proceed accordingly.

    1945 2N - lift issues. ( what am I in for? )

Quality seat time last weekend: 1+ acre food plot, Dearborn 2-bottom plow, disc, etc. Put the ol' girl to work and boy does she pull. One issue toward the end... My tube-frame disc is about the limit for the 3pt lift. As I've been working this tractor I have noticed the pump noise under...

    Front engine seal 1945 2N

When running, it drips a good sized drop about once per second. The front seal area is very greasy / oily. I have my front axle out anyway but haven't dug any deeper. I really do not want to drop the pan right now. Any less invasive solutions or tricks in this area? Can I pull a timing cover...

    reconnecting #^%$#@ lift control - 9N/2N

I do have the cover assembly hanging from a cherry picker. I can look into some alignment studs, but I don't see that as the problem just yet. Right now, getting things connected down inside the works is the issue... I'll give it another try tomorrow. Maybe my 10-year-old will get...

    reconnecting #^%$#@ lift control - 9N/2N

1945 2N - re-installing the top cover on my 3-pt lift. I have both side covers off... Is there a trick or technique to getting the control fork over the little valve thing on the pump? I can juuuust barely fit my hand in there, but can't really move my hand much once it's in there, much...

how do aftermarket fenders compare to original?

I will be replacing the fenders on the 1945 2N. Are the repop fenders decent or are they chinese tin foil? Any source better than others? Want to avoid being dissapointed, so interested in any experiences with new fenders. Thank you, -Karl

    Lift Arm removal help?

Thanks for the reply. I finally conquered it. Got just enough chisel wedged between for pressure, then beat the arm portion of the lift arm. Finally got it to move enough to get a pickle fork in there and eventually won. Quite a workout! Reason for removal is I busted the arm itself today...

    Lift Arm removal help?

1945 2N - I need to R&R an upper lift arm on the 3 point hitch. It's stuck on the spline and I can't get a gear puller on it - no edge to grab. Currently soaking it with BP Blaster in hopes it will loosen up. I'd rather not do a top cover rebuild at this time. Have not tried heat... Any...

600 SOS to run a tiller?

Have a line on a 600 series SOS tractor. Not sure how the ground speed / PTO speed works on those. Good for running a tiller? (I currently run a 1945 2N but reluctant to get a tiller for want of slower ground speed. Maybe another tractor is a better investment than a Howard reduction. ??)

PTO - belt pulley adapter ID?

Hey, thanks for the reply. It's 1-1/8" all the way, common right angle. I think I'll clean it up and give it a try. -k

PTO - belt pulley adapter ID?

Found one in a barn. Looks usable. Don't see any markings on it, Ford or otherwise. Held it up to the 2N and seems like it should fit. Is there a way to ID these or are they pretty universal? (I have an evil fantasy involving a belt-driven shingle mill...)

You've alluded to this several times in this thread. For the uninitiated, what are the possibilities and how does one tell? I am looking at an (early) SOS also, so inquiring minds want to know... Thank you.

    ammeter

Just doing some troubleshooting on my '45 2N and noticed that the ammeter "connection" is just a wire lying in a clip on the back of the meter. Induction? Not sure to what years this applies and someone knowlegable will likely clarify, but you may not need to do much more than re-route an...
