    1952 A starter model # 1108950

    took the little metal sleeve off of the brush end of the starter and one of the brushes fell out along with the spring that was broken also. the brush was still attached to the little metal clip that holds it in place and it looks like it had rusted thru and someone tried to solder it back in...

    its been running pretty good. was measuring for the whellie bars and needed a good flat surface so i pulled it in front of the garage on the cement and my starter problem began. ended up pulling the fly wheel cover off and startin it by hand. if you have never tried that, DON'T.!!! liked to...

    i have a1952 A and my starter went out sitting in the driveway so i pulled the fly wheel cover and after about 25 attempts i got it going. be glad you got the petcocks to help release the compression :(

    1952 A checked the spark plugs and they need replaced any preferrences on what plug to use? it has champion D23 in it now

    rear axle seal leaking

    didnt see that coming. a bit more involved than i had thought it would be. that might have to be a wintertime project. i seen a tractor at the pull that had a rag tied around the axle.to soak up the excess, might have to go that route for now.thanks for all the good info...

    1952? A has a leak on the left side where the axle goes into the frame and it is slobbering on the wheel. i am assuming there is a seal in there. how difficult are those to fix?
