    1959 700B sheet metal

I considered that since the parts manual shows two different radiator brackets, center pieces and side members as well as different screens but I don't know what they height of each of them would be. What has me confused is that I have the build cards for both tractors and they are identical...

    1959 700B sheet metal

Now that I've got my 700B diesel running we started fitting the sheet metal on. It was all there but not on the tractor when I got it and was pretty bent up. After putting the nose cone and center piece on we were talking about the grill screens which did not come with it. Here's where it...

    Re: Bosch PES inline pump

I haven't posted for a couple weeks but I did go and move the timing back to the proper mark and the engine still starts and runs. There is still some smoke at first but it clears up shortly and seems to be getting less with each start. Thanks for all the help. Now on to the next issue!

    Re: Bosch PES inline pump

I haven't had much time the last couple weeks to work on my 700B until yesterday. I checked and rechecked the timing (I even rotated the crank 360 degrees and reset the timing to make sure it was right originally and it was). I still didn't have any luck getting to it do anything other than a...

    Bosch PES inline pump

It's been a long time getting to this point but here is the progress I've made. The injector pump and injectors were sent to Dieseltech for rebuilding and he did a great job. They have been installed and the timing checked several times. After bleeding the lines back in May I tried to start it...

    Splitting rear of VAC

It turned out to not be a bad job. The hardest part was getting the shaft at the right level to slide out of the connector sleeve. We played with the angle of the transmission side and the rear axle until it slid out. Reassembly was pretty simple. Here are a couple pictures...

    Splitting rear of VAC

Did you guys use Permatex/.rtv along with the gasket? I've never been a fan of using gasket maker instead of the gasket. After all, it was built with just the gasket.

    Splitting rear of VAC

I'm working on a VAC and the seal between the transmission and the rear axle is leaking. I've tightened the bolts but it's still leaking. The service manual makes it look like an easy job but I'm leery. Anyone replaced this seal (VT3508)? What should I look out for? I have a new seal from John...

I should buy a lottery ticket

That Chill Out sounds pretty interesting. But it looks like it's not widely available. Their website sounds like they only service large accounts.

    Speedometer/Tachometer cables

What's the size/thread count on the end of the speedometer where it goes into the dash? I believe the male bottom end of both are 3/4-22 for the 700/800.

    2022 Case calendar

Another great job on the calendar Mark! I received my order in time to give one to my Dad for Christmas. He was surprised to see my tractor on the July page! Thanks! I also like the serial number info. That's pretty cool.

    VAC Rockshaft seal

No Sir, I didn't want to bother John with a matter that I thought could be answered here. Hope they are doing better but have not heard anything either.

    VAC Rockshaft seal

Does anyone have a source for the rockshaft seal VT2945? I'm not having any luck finding one. Thanks.

    Bosch PES inline pump

Based on previous posts I've read here that is definitely in my thoughts! (If he's interested.) Just want to be sure it's not something really easy to take care of first.

    Bosch PES inline pump

Thanks Dieseltech, that's what I was thinking. But being on the engine side it's pretty hard to get to and I was worried about not being able to give it a downward strike. Is there a danger to striking it from the side?

    Bosch PES inline pump

I'm working on a 700-B tractor that has sat for a LONG time. The crank will turn (by hand) just over 90 degrees. Having read about the injector pump sticking I didn't want to force it. I've taken the inspection window off the pump and the rear plunger seems to be stuck. I've also taken the long...

Thanks Mike. I agree Jim, I spent quite a bit of time last night going through the paint committee decisions but didn't find anything. I'll continue to look.
