    Hydraulic oil

Hey guys, I changed my fluids several months back using UTF. I have a slight leak at my weep hole area and need to add more fluid. Would it hurt anything to add the SAE 90 to the UTF? Just looking to try to slow up the leak a little and wasn't sure if mixing them would hurt anything.

    6' finish mower behind 8n

I pulled the spark plug wires off one at a time and there was a change is the engine sound on each cylinder.

    6' finish mower behind 8n

Carb has been rebuilt. Float is set at 1/4”. No issues with flooding while driving up or down. Idles good too. At full throttle without a load I am only seeing 1800 RPMs on proof meter. Is that high enough? With slight adjustable to carb I still can’t get it about 1800. I drove it in...

coolant is just over the coils. Not sure what you mean by float level though.

    6' finish mower behind 8n

Dean, That would be correct. Cuts decent on flat ground but any type of incline no matter how small will big down and cause radiator to steam over

    6' finish mower behind 8n

Yes, I verified that first. Grass is not terribly high or heavy. I also raised the deck just to see if that helped and it did not.

    6' finish mower behind 8n

unfortunately, that was what I was thinking. It didn't seem to matter if it was tall or shorter grass I had the same issue. I even raised the mower up some to see if that helped and it did not. what would I look at from a tractor standpoint to trouble shoot? tractor idles and runs...

    6' finish mower behind 8n

I hooked up a 6' land pride finish mower to my 52 8n. If I go up any incline big or small it bogs the tractor down no matter which gear I am in. then when attempting to get back on flat surface my radiator starts steaming out of my radiator cap. Is it just to much for my tractor or Is my...

    Idle Issues on 8n

Well, I feel like a complete idiot. I have been trying to figure out my hard start, power issues for several weeks now, when I would actually get a chance to get back to my tractor. Well last night I went back through carb, gas flow, etc. then I decided to trace my plug wires and...

    TSX Choke palte

I pulled mine last night to verify. My flap was on the inside as it is in your pic. but my spring is on the outside. Would that make a difference?

    TSX Choke palte

do you happen to have a pic of the "proper" way they should look. I rebuilt my carb a month or so back and that was how mine looked when I took it apart. I put it back that way because I figured it was the correct way. Mine will flood easy to, maybe that is why

    Idle Issues on 8n

Several weeks ago I was having an issue with loss of power. 8n would idle great but bog down when attempting to let clutch out to move and if trying to move up any small incline would lose power and die. I took carb off and made sure it was clean. I had rebuilt it a couple month ago...

    transmission Issues

I didn't get a chance to look at it last night but should get back to it this afternoon. I was thinking about the brake as that was kind of what it felt like, almost like a car with an E-brake left on.

NO, PTO is in gear. I have a blade hooked up and had raised it up before attempting to move.

    transmission Issues

I have not drove my 8n for a month or so. However, I have started it periodically. Yesterday I started it up and let it run for 5 to 10 minutes. I have it parked in a shed that has a slight hump to get over in order to back it out of shed. Each time I would attempt to let out the clutch...

    Painting an 8n

When the weather warms up some I want to start painting my new to me 8n. I have read though some of the archives on different approaches. I am doing this on a limited budget and was planning on brushing the red and rolling the hood/fenders. I have read where people rolled the hood and...

    Changing Oil in 8n

That’s for the help everyone. I was able to get the tube pushed back over and aligned as it should be. Everything stayed tight and luckily nothing broke and I was able to get the screen back on the plug too. Looks like I can continue wit the oil change. Thanks again
