Hi I have a mf35 and I found a used 80 inch rear bucket. Is that too wide for it. Should I look for something much narrower?

Put new water in and it is leaking heavely from radiator bottom and from an engine plug behjnd the water pump. The...

I Hit something lower than the mufler on my super major and it broke where it is mounted to the manifold. Will the engine run fine without the mufler?

    Whining gears?

I actually put 80w90 in it as I have lots of it but got cold feet because what if the seals between engine, gear and rear are leaking. Mixed oils isnt good is it? I have some 20w50 I plan on using for the engine. But perhaps I should buy some more for the gearbox. It is a tractor/oil spreader...

    Whining gears?

Hi! Was out driving my super major for the first time doing some work in the field. When in 4/2 there is a whining noise. A little less in 3/1 and none in 6/5 and rear. Cant quite tell where it is comming from but the foot rest on the left is vibrating. Feels like touching an oscilating...

    Fuel tap turns

Hi! How many turns should the fuel tap be turned to be fully opened? I have seen some turn a few turns and some up to 20 turns. Is this supposed to be turned more than half a turn? Like a ball valve.

    35 or 35x? Genuine?

Thanks for the good reply. Doesnt look too good anymore. Perhaps because is isnt air tight. When weather is humid a lot of condensattion builds up on the inside of the glass. The hour meter is stuck. Unfortunately.

    35 or 35x? Genuine?

Hi. on my 35 the sticker says 35x. But that might not be from when the tractor was made. The front emblem is the massey ferguson. But inside the tachometer it says FE35 and also on the brass plate under the dashboard. According to this page...

    Transmission oil for super

Yes, have thought a bit about that seal between the compartment. But looking at the oils they are a different colour. The rear is yellowish and cloudy. The gear oil is clear brown. Both feels like they have the same viscosity and are oils. Wouldn't they both be same colour if there was a...

    Transmission oil for super

There is around 8 liters of oil in the tranny of my super major. Don't know what it is but looks ok. I have a lot of 80w90. Gl4. Would it hurt anything topping it off with that? There are a couple of leaky seals, so am a bit worried that 15w40 will leak more. And I don't have 30 liters of...

    Crack in manifold

After a little better look it seems like the crack goes all the way to the edges. So no drilling needed. Doubt I can get these bolt and nuts off. The whole exhaust and elbow looks very rusty. So perhaps a new set is in order. Just hope the manifold isn't too stuck and the doesn't studs break...
