    600 hydraulic question

Sounds like it wouldn't be worth the trouble. My back-up is to make my digger self contained with it's own pump and a 12 hp lawn mower engine for power. Thanks, Mike

    600 hydraulic question

Hi: I have a mid 50's 600 ford tractor with the piston type hydraulic pump. I am thinking about getting a small backhoe attachment. I don't want to buy a PTO pydraulic pump, if I don't have to. I want run quick connect lines to the back. Is my pump big enough to power a BH attachment? Has anyone...

    smoke and synthetic oil

I recently purchased a 1957 ford 600 that I am trying to put back in service. It had been sitting for about 1 1/2 years; the guy I bought it from had just bought it himself and didn't know much about it. I rebuilt the carb, it has good compression, and was easy to get started. Problem is there...

    600 Hydraulic problem

MB I will change the fluid after I blow the lines out. Can you suggest the best way to get air through those pipes, do I just remove the pump and blow air through it with a compressor or is there a better way? Thanks, Mike

I recently purchased a 640 ford that had been sitting for about 1 1/2 years. I have it running, but the lift doesen"t work. I have checked the fluid and the level is OK, color is yellowish. rebuild question

Those HP numbers you supplied are higher than the 31 and 40 I have seen in other places. Like you said, HP is lost through the transmission, maybe the 31 and 40 are at the wheels or the PTO. The HP gain with the O/B is minimal and heat disbursement could be a problem. Thanks

    rebuild question

It sure would be quicker and a lot less work to swap motors, if I could find one in the right price range. If anyone knows of any good 600's or 800's out there I would like to know about them. Thanks for the info.

My 55 model 600 had a 1 1/8" PTO. I changed it over after years of using a bushing.
