    Update on JD Z737

Thanks for all the replies. I figured I'd start with the easy, changed the fuel filter and plugs. In changing the plugs, I realized a rodent was trying to build a nest . SOB chewed through one plug wire. I ordered 2 new coils and put them in last night, running much better. After the rain stops...

JD Z737 Run 'er til she dies

I could use a little help troubleshooting my ZTR. I started it on Sunday and it sounded off. I first thought the exhaust manifold gasket was leaking. It seems fine. I then let run a couple minutes like normal before moving/ engaging the PTO. That almost killed the engine. I checked the fuel...

    CIH 4240 Hydraulics Problem again

I posted a few days ago about some problems I was having after changing the fluids. All is well and working but I was about 2 gals. short of full. My nearest CNH dealer is 35 miles away and I can't drive that far. So I called the dealer I had used in the past that services our area once a...

    CIH 4240 Hydraulics Problem

I am having issues with my hydraulic system? I changed the fluids with Hy-tran but am 1 to 2 gallons short of being to the top of the dipstick. At most/least I am at 80%. I cracked the power steering nut like my OP manual says and cranked it over with the fuel stop pulled. I had some fluid come...

    Fuel Tank Leak

I have a problem and need help/options. I have a CIH 4240 open station diesel. My saddle tank has a pin hole, maybe 1/16. I was having issues with rust inside the tank. I replaced the filters a couple times and used a magnet to try and clean out the inside. I removed the tank and the paint...

    plumbing question?

I have a friend who thought it was better to add a second 50 gal. electric hot water heater rather than replace the first 50 gal. with a much larger unit. He read on the web. and plumbed it but can't get them to work together? We get many electrical questions here but I see few about plumbing...

    RE : concrete mixes

I just wanted to update people on the mixing project.I moved over here from tool talk because now that it is a working mixer, it is going to be tractor related. Through more internet searching, I found a break-down by weight to mix a one yard, 4000# mix. I adjusted the weights to 5-gal buckets...

    RE : concrete mixes

In reading your answers, I didn't realize the ratio numbers were so specific to materials used.I thought I remembered the 3-2-1.In my younger days I worked for 10+ yrs. in the concrete construction services, poured 1000"s of yards. The largest one day flat work job was 224 yds. All work was...

Larry Stine or other concrete gurus

I could use a little knowledge from some of you who know. I remember the ratio 3-2-1 and am guessing that is volume , not weight. Is that like a standard 4000# mix ? If so, would 3-2-1.25 be a 5000# mix? My cousin and I are converting an old 50's barrel from hit& miss belt drive to electric motor.

    RE: gun value

Thanks for all the input. John B.'s site lead me to prices from $687-829 but as was stated, list prices without bids.Due to the fact that it is a special series, 1 of 500, I'm not sure if I'll get the true value? I was hoping there was a site to put the serial # in with the condition & pop out a...

    broken axle

I broke a rear axle on my disc yesterday. I bought it used as a Bush Hog 8 ft unit? There is no name plate on the frame? Is there a way to confirm the make so I can try to find parts and know what size discs belong? I didn't measure it yet, 1" or 1 1/8" square? Thanks Jeff
