135 split/ seals

I've been slowly mechanically restoring my early US model 135 diesel. After doing the PTo seal and fixing the leaky standpipe plate the slow drip from the cotter pin has increased to where a steady drip while mowing/hot(I see the drop trail on concrete floor) and I lose about a quart over the next day and then it slows down.

I realize this is a small amount of oil compared to 8 gallons but this is pretty much the last leak I have left on this old tractor . My questions:

1) is a split something to attempt by myself? I rarely have help. I did the oil pan gasket by myself and that was a hard time but it's no longer leaking. I also have done the injection pump solo and a bunch of other parts. I've read about the wedges for the engine and most of the other things on the threads on this site.
2)my clutch is tight and it will almost pop a wheelie - some grinds into third gear sometimes. Is this something to replace just because it it will be split? The PTO clutch seems to work fine, it's hard to get into engine driven PTO sometimes but with the tractor off it's no problem
3)besides the trans input shaft seal, are there any others to get while I have it open? I really don't want to have to do the rear main if it involves dropping the pan again and it's not currently leaking. My oil dipstick never changes level.

Thank you

...Is your MF 135 a 6 speed?(Three speed ..plus high / Low selector.)
...Multipower or no multipower..?
.....Independent PTO ....?
Two stage clutch or single clutch.?
Do you have the service manual as in Transmission disassembly.?

Sound like you have determined you have an OIL LEAK originating from the Transmission.?

I have the designed drawings used to machine the tooling to install the OIL SEALS as per INPUT Transmission Shafts

The oil is clear so I do not think it is engine oil. 6 speed no multipower with 2 stage clutch.

These dimensions, and instruction, were handed to machinist....the drivers worked 100%...:)
I had to remove Transmission from both Engine and Differential

Consider purchasing the MF SERVICE MANUAL, adjust and replace as per instructions..!!

I have some more questions. It looks like there are several different variations of the seal part numbers for the standard six speed. AGCO parts shows early production, later production starts with "C" , later production starts with "F". They also show a 1.5" or a 1.7" planetary gear. Is there a specific spot I can measure this, or should I pull it apart and see if there are any serial numbers on the parts?

My tractor is a very early production so I'm guessing it would be 1.5"?

Second, is it worth replacing the bearings on the input shaft since they will have to be pressed on/off?

There is a MF trained specialist here on Yesterdays Tractors.
User Name....Dieseltech

YES.. I replaced all bearings in the MF 6 speed the time I replaced the OIL SEALS on the Transmission input shaft...

PURCHASE the MF Service manual and set the CLUTCH assembly as per Instructions, with the proper tooling and or as YT
user Dieseltech instructs.

Make sure you pay attention as to the order in that each component is removed from the transmission case!

There are more that one design MODEL of the MF 6 speed. NOT all components interchange!

MF SERVICE MANUAL.!!!!!!
