I've been slowly mechanically restoring my early US model 135 diesel. After doing the PTo seal and fixing the leaky standpipe plate the slow drip from the cotter pin has increased to where a steady drip while mowing/hot(I see the drop trail on concrete floor) and I lose about a quart over the next day and then it slows down.
I realize this is a small amount of oil compared to 8 gallons but this is pretty much the last leak I have left on this old tractor . My questions:
1) is a split something to attempt by myself? I rarely have help. I did the oil pan gasket by myself and that was a hard time but it's no longer leaking. I also have done the injection pump solo and a bunch of other parts. I've read about the wedges for the engine and most of the other things on the threads on this site.
2)my clutch is tight and it will almost pop a wheelie - some grinds into third gear sometimes. Is this something to replace just because it it will be split? The PTO clutch seems to work fine, it's hard to get into engine driven PTO sometimes but with the tractor off it's no problem
3)besides the trans input shaft seal, are there any others to get while I have it open? I really don't want to have to do the rear main if it involves dropping the pan again and it's not currently leaking. My oil dipstick never changes level.
Thank you
