1566 black or white stripe?

I recently bought a 1566 international. It is a white stripe but
the serial number is saying a 1976 model so i am wondering if
it was possible to get a white stripe that year and if i read the
serial number correctly. The serial number is
2650125U008909 any input would be greatly appreciated.

could be wrong but,i thought black stripe was was in 1977.

My IH book said 1976 your sn I be leave is a 1975.

I have read that the Black Stripe tractors came out in late, late 75 and 76. So if you actually have a 75 it should be a white stripe unless it was made in the last days of 75. The 86 series came out in the fall of 76. I have included the first 1086 off the line.

Thanks for the input! The tractor is painted as a white stripe now so ill leave it a white stripe when i restore it. Just wanted to be sure that is correct. Thanks again.

That is IH's First 1086. It is owned by Danny Anderson (Dirt Boyz) of Pine Island MN and Bruce Dankers Goodhue, MN.
