1957 ford 840

Was the ford 840 only made in 1957?
As an owner of a 1957 840 I can say yes. Years ago someone mentioned this on the forum and I've never found any evidence to the contrary. For some positive evidence go to the tractordata 840 link below and see the introductory brochure near the bottom of the page. Unfortunately the brochure is mostly illegible due to small size but the accompanying note say published 1957.

No.
I believe they came out in late 54 as the 55 model. Sold till sometime in 57 when they changed the # to 841. 841 was sold till 62 when they changed the color to blue and revamped the tin a little and called it a 4000.
Those were sold thru 64.
Same tractor all the way through with a few modest upgrades along the way.

I must disagree, original question was about a specific model, Ford 840 with four speed transmission. Original 800-Series lineup circa 54/55 did not include the 840. It included the 820, 850, and 860 all with five-speed transmissions.
