Electrical starting issues
Day before I couldn't get it started back up after 30 min use
I probably turned it over too much and fried something in the process
It finally started and I parked it
Next day the switch on light was dim
Battery seemed bad
Came back next day, the light had come back on for some reason small glow
I replaced solenoid,switch on,light comes on,mashed push button start,.pop.light goes out
Its like there's an open circuit somewhere that popped that light off
All leads read like there's circuit in there...just nothing to set starter in motion
Tested starter out of tractor, the starter engaged and was spinning
Battery is good.
Coil, resistor(do remember crackle backfire),are my next to think about replacing

"Battery seems good, battery is bad. It is like there is an open circuit somewhere" How are you coming by this information?

Day before.trouble..I couldn't get it started back up after 30 minutes use...I've heard the term vapor lock...anyway..
I held start button down...it eventually cranked back up....went and parked it
The next day went to start it and the battery seemed low or drained...no reaction when I pushed start button
Step 1 I took battery to store...they tested it and said it was a good battery
Then I put a 12v solenoid not grounded at base....still same reaction.nothing when I push button..not the right solenoid anyway
Put the correct 6v solenoid on there....still same reaction....all wires were put back correctly
I have a light that comes on when I turn the switch on
After new solenoid...switch on...light on...mashed button...pop...light goes out...overload somewhere
Took starter out and ohmed it...starter responded correctly
Moving on thru the electronics I'm on to the next step....bad neg ground wire.it does have corrosion in it ..resistor.i did hear crackling
backfire at times...coil....
Not that complicated of a system
Its dad's old tractor
It always cranks up no trouble until now
When I held starter button down I might have fried something
It's puzzling to me to what caused this
The tractor is in fair shape
Always runs good
I don't run it for to long at a time
Neg ground wire in pic
Post more pics later
Thanks

Could that pic I posted of the neg cable ground be the issue?

Can a bad resistor cause the issue...?

Something isn't telling the starter to engage

Bad ignition coil?

Meter reads 12.6 at various spots...of the system...

When mashed down...it made a ....pop...caused on off light to blow...surge of power.?

Hi, what made the light blow when I mashed down the start button?

I did replace the solenoid...I hooked it up like the last one was

That might be some part of the issue as why it sparks when I push down the button and blows the light ...
12v system
Had a 6v solenoid on the tractor original
Bought wrong 12v solenoid, maybe
Put suggested 6v solenoid instead
Wired just like original was
Switch on
Push button
Pop
Light blows

I have a new switch coming....the one next to the shift lever

Put new neg cable

I'm putting new wires

The day after I overused the starter button..to try and get it started, something occured to an electrical component..coil solenoid resistor starter button...
That light was real dim...weak...that's what made me think bad battery, which is good,
So i fried something when I held starter button down to long

Just a process of elimination

Newer solenoids may be different than the older ones...

It was the starter wire
Badly corroded

311007fr solenoid works well
