2290 Steering Column

The telescoping steering wheel does not lock, the center knob just spins. Upon pulling the steering wheel off, there is no snap ring holding the sliding shaft in like I expected to find. How do I disassemble the telescoping steering column shaft to replace the telescoping steering column locks?

IIRC Knock the lower pin out of the upper joint and pull the assembly out the top. Tom
