310 throttle

G148 has trottle that goes under the gas tank, the lever is broke,
so a wire goes to the link. This runs, but i think it is the problem
when the engine shuts down. It pops when I start it again. I
check the carb and the throttle is all the way down, it really
doesn't go full throttle ever and there is a lot of pressure on the
linkage as if it will never open up. I adjust it all the way full and it
still has a lot of tension on the spring. If I find someone who has
the broken link under the gas tank and replace, will that solve
my issue. Is there a way of just adjusting the throttle with a
cable like the choke, so i can force the engine to do more than
idle? When the engine is cold, it seems that the throttle wants to
work better, there seems to be a little more movement.

Can't help w/ the linkage, but we have new Throttle Handles in the making. Been a long project, but we should see them next week.

my machine is in pretty amazing shape. But the little arm on the end of the rod is broke off. I wonder if it is weldable, and what the org. one looked like

Is this the arm you are needing? It is on the right side just under the battery tray.

yes, there is also a spring that is disconnected under the batt. tray and there is an arm in that area that goes thru a plate that is for something that must be connected to that spring or linkage. I have a long bar that goes along the engine that the wire is connected to. Do you have a better diagram or photo of these links?

Here is the diagram from the parts manual. Hard to get a good picture of a complete one with the sheet metal intact. Maybe this will help.

I didn"t pay enough attention to your question. You need G1082 Lever, but they are not available anymore. I had to make one of those this Winter. Wasn"t too bad. I got a bushing w/ the correct ID for the shaft, then welded an arm to it, drilled a hole in the bushing for a roll pin, & drilled a hole in the arm for the lever. I am NOT a machinest, but looked good & works well. Stronger than the original pot metal piece of $hit CASE used.

Makes me wonder why they made that arm a weak link. Now all i need is a G13475 rod for the foot throttle and rod G10746 and make the G1062, then hopefully it won't idol down when warm.

Hi Mark do not have a clue what is going on with your e mail address but I wrote you twice so far and the first time it was a religious e mail that came back to me and the second time I wrote you you never showed any sign of life since anything wrong. jc marleau
