Looking for ideas....
In the final hours (literally) of wrapping up a 6 year restoration (top to bottom and front to back) of a 1961 4010D. You name it...it is new!
Tractor has a very nice coating of PPG Concept JD Green including the operators platform. Looks good but a) I"m concerned that the platform will be slick when wet and b) eventually and probably quickly it"ll get scratch and begin to look horrible.
So I purchased some wide 4 inch strips of anti-skid tape thinking that it would help to provide safety when wet and also would help to protect the platform paint since boots will typically be on the anti-skid tape.
But before I go about cutting and attaching this stuff, I wanted to know if anyone else has done something to the platforms. I was hoping that someone would make an aftermarket rubber mat for it....but I haven"t found any.
So if you have thoughts, love to hear them. She isn"t a show tractor....she"ll be used for haying operations (e.g. baling, etc) but I do want to keep her looking as good as possible - - - too much $$$, blood, sweat and tears went into this project!
Thank you.
